Games Workshop’s 28 October 2026 Warhammer Age of Sigmar update makes its most important changes to Khazalite Holds and Sons of Behemat. Khazalite players must account for new GRIMMDRON keyword references and a rewritten Lofnir Drothkeepers Army of Renown, while Sons of Behemat players gain new regiment options that make 2,000-point lists easier to build without Auxiliaries. Several other factions receive targeted corrections, and four Spearhead formations get wording clarifications rather than major redesigns.
The update is a rules-download issue for some armies, but not every player needs to change a roster. Check the current Age of Sigmar Downloads page before your next event, because later quarterly errata can supersede this release.
What changed in the October 2026 Age of Sigmar update?
The update is divided into major army changes, minor army corrections and a short Spearhead clarification section. Khazalite Holds and Sons of Behemat are the two major army-level areas; Ogor Mawtribes, Lumineth Realm-lords, Skaven, Sylvaneth and Nighthaunt receive smaller changes.

What happened to Khazalite Holds and the old Fyreslayers rules?
Khazalite Holds rules now replace older FYRESLAYERS keyword references with the new GRIMMDRON keyword. This is intended to keep earlier rules, including Fyreslayers Scourge of Aqshy, usable under the current terminology rather than leaving them dependent on an obsolete keyword.

What should Khazalite players check?
- Download the latest Khazalite Holds rules and compare every FYRESLAYERS keyword reference in older material.
- Check warscrolls, battle traits and army rules that use keywords when combining newer Khazalite material with older Fyreslayers content.
- Review the revised Lofnir Drothkeepers Army of Renown before using a list built under its previous rules.
What changed in Lofnir Drothkeepers?
The Army of Renown has been rewritten to fit the new rules framework. It also adds another way to generate grudge marks when Magmadroths are killed. That change matters most to players whose strategy depends on accumulating or spending grudge marks during a battle, so the revised document should replace older printouts at the table.
How do I build a legal 2,000-point Sons of Behemat army now?
Both Matriarch’s Mob and Stomper Tribe now gain regiment options led by a Mancrusher Gargant. Games Workshop says the additions address the difficulty of making a legal 2,000-point army without relying on Auxiliaries.

What the new options change
The new entries give each named Army of Renown an additional way to organize eligible units around a Mancrusher Gargant. They do not automatically make every existing collection legal: points, unit eligibility and the army’s current regiment restrictions still apply.

- Download the updated Army of Renown rules and identify the Mancrusher Gargant-led regiment entry.
- Build the regiment using only the units permitted by that entry.
- Add the remaining units required by the Army of Renown and verify the final total against the current points document.
- Confirm that the finished 2,000-point roster uses no disallowed Auxiliaries before submitting it for an event.
Players who already own a Mancrusher Gargant should first check whether the model now solves a regiment-structure problem in their collection. Players starting a new list may need the updated rules before deciding whether another Gargant is necessary.

Which other armies received fixes?
The remaining army changes are narrower than the Khazalite and Sons of Behemat revisions.
- Skaven: The Verminlord Corruptor’s points are corrected after a typographical error.
- Pyregheists: The reinforcement wording now clarifies that Champions can be doubled up when the unit is reinforced.
- Ydrilan Riverblades: The same Champion-doubling clarification applies when the unit is reinforced.
- Ogor Mawtribes, Lumineth Realm-lords, Sylvaneth and Nighthaunt: These factions are listed among the minor army updates; use the latest downloadable documents for their exact amended wording.
Because the changes vary by faction, replacing the relevant PDF or FAQ is safer than relying on a summary copied into a roster builder.

Which Spearhead teams changed?
No major Spearhead redesign is announced. Heartflayer Troupe, Slasher Host, Swampskulka Gang and Sunblood Prowlers receive minor clarifications, including explicit “Once Per Turn (Army)” conditions on abilities.

| Swampskulka Gang | Clarification | Replace older reference text |
| Sunblood Prowlers | Clarification | Check timing and army-wide usage limits |
If your Spearhead is not one of these four, the October release does not identify a major change for it.

Where can I get the current Age of Sigmar rules?
Use Games Workshop’s official Age of Sigmar Downloads page for the latest FAQs and errata. Games Workshop says those documents incorporate community, playtester and studio design-team feedback and are intended to provide the current rules reference. Download the faction, Army of Renown or Spearhead document that applies to your collection, then remove superseded copies from your phone or event folder.
What should players do before their next game?
- Identify whether your army is Khazalite Holds, Sons of Behemat or one of the listed minor-update factions.
- Check whether you use Lofnir Drothkeepers, Matriarch’s Mob or Stomper Tribe.
- Download the latest faction and points documents.
- Update keywords, regiment entries, points and reinforced-unit wording on your roster.
- For Spearhead games, check the four named formations for the clarified Once Per Turn (Army) language.
- Ask rules questions through the official Games Workshop FAQ contact, AoSFAQ@gwplc.com, when the published wording does not resolve an interaction.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to rebuy my Khazalite Holds army after this update?
No. The change is primarily a rules and keyword update, so existing models remain usable. You may need the current battletome or downloaded documents to confirm how older Fyreslayers material interacts with GRIMMDRON wording.
Does the Sons of Behemat change add more points to a 2,000-point army?
It adds regiment-building options, not a universal points increase. Your final list still has to meet the current points total and the specific eligibility rules for Matriarch’s Mob or Stomper Tribe.
Are Spearhead battleplans or board layouts changing in October 2026?
The update identifies no major Spearhead redesign. The announced changes are wording clarifications for four formations, especially the use limits expressed as Once Per Turn (Army).
Where should tournament players verify an older FAQ?
Use the latest file on Games Workshop’s Age of Sigmar Downloads page rather than an archived community copy. Quarterly updates can replace earlier errata, so check the document date immediately before an event.
