Start by checking the monitor’s preview and latest history: does Wachete capture the exact text or page area that changed? If not, correct the selection or try Dynamic monitoring when the content appears only after JavaScript runs. If Wachete reports “Forbidden,” the website may be refusing automated requests; testing another monitoring location can help diagnose that, but it is not a guaranteed fix. Available documentation does not establish a general Wachete compatibility problem with Indian government websites, so the specific URL and monitor response matter.
1. Check the preview and latest history
Open the monitor and inspect its latest check and captured content. Compare what Wachete sees with the precise text or section you expect to change. A monitor cannot reliably alert on content that its capture does not include.
For visual differences, Wachete’s FAQ describes editing the monitor, choosing HTML under the extraction setting, then opening the visual-differences control in the monitor’s details and history. See Wachete’s FAQ.
- If the preview omits the relevant content, correct the monitored page selection or extraction before changing alert settings.
- Check the latest check time and captured result, not just the monitor list’s ordering. The last check and the time content last changed are distinct pieces of information.
2. Test Dynamic monitoring if JavaScript creates the content
Some pages show the desired text only after browser-side JavaScript runs. Wachete says most pages can be monitored as static, but content that appears only after rendering should be checked with Dynamic monitoring.

- Open the monitor preview in its current mode and see whether the target text is present.
- Switch the preview to Dynamic and compare the captured content.
- If the text appears only in Dynamic mode, change the monitor to Dynamic and check its next result.
Do not switch modes just because a page looks modern; use the preview comparison. For API-configured monitors, Wachete documents the dynamicContent: true setting for JavaScript-rendered content in its API documentation. Confirm current plan support in your Wachete account before depending on Dynamic monitoring.
3. Diagnose “Forbidden” or blank captures
A “Forbidden” response means the target server refused the request; it does not prove that the page stayed unchanged. Wachete identifies automated-bot protection as a common reason for Forbidden responses and suggests trying Dynamic preview or another monitoring location. Wachete says it can check from several locations worldwide; changing location is a diagnostic attempt, not a guaranteed workaround.

- Record the latest response/status and check timestamp.
- Try another available monitoring location and compare the result.
- If the site appears to restrict automated access, ask Wachete support or the site operator about an appropriate access method rather than assuming a proxy will work.
Wachete’s FAQ also mentions a rotating residential proxy, but the documentation does not establish that it will resolve a particular site’s restriction. Follow the website’s access rules.
4. Verify the monitored region and alert condition
If the preview contains the correct content but no notification arrives, check that the monitor is watching the relevant part of the page and that its notification rule matches the change you expect. Wachete supports monitoring a whole page or a selected part, with conditions such as text appearing or disappearing. See its monitoring service and FAQ for the available controls.

- Confirm the selected region includes the text or element that changed.
- Check that the alert condition describes the event you want, such as specific text appearing or disappearing.
- Use the monitor details and history to distinguish the most recent check from the time of the last detected change.
For API users, Wachete documents retrieving basic monitor information and monitor data values, including differences, in its API documentation.
5. Send support a useful diagnosis
If the checks above do not isolate the issue, give Wachete support the details needed to distinguish rendering, access blocking, selection, and notification configuration:

- The exact page URL.
- Whether the monitor is Static or Dynamic.
- What the preview shows, including whether Dynamic changes the result.
- The latest check timestamp and response/status.
- The selected page region and alert condition.
There is no documented basis for treating Indian government websites as a category that Wachete cannot monitor. The actual URL, response, and preview are needed to diagnose an individual failure. Monitoring runs on Wachete’s servers, so leaving your computer or phone on will not fix a capture problem.
