Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesIf ads, timestamps, counters, or other changing page regions keep triggering Wachete alerts, narrow the monitored area or exclude the volatile region. In Wachete’s preview, select exclude mode and mark what to ignore, or add an Exclude XPath in the monitor’s advanced settings. If the content you want to track appears only after JavaScript runs, use Dynamic mode and confirm it appears in the preview.
Choose the right fix for the alert
First identify whether Wachete is watching more of the page than you need. A monitor can cover the whole page or a selected section; choosing the relevant text, number, or section can avoid unrelated changes without excluding useful information. Wachete’s FAQ and features page describe these monitoring options.
- The alert is caused by a specific changing area, such as an ad or date: exclude that region in preview or with an Exclude XPath.
- The alert concerns the wrong page content or too much of the page: select the specific section you actually want to monitor.
- The content you want is missing from the preview: check whether it is rendered by JavaScript and test Dynamic mode.
- You are unsure whether a notification reflects a change or a check: inspect the monitor details for the separate timestamps.
Exclude ads, timestamps, and other volatile regions
Mark the region in preview
- Open the monitor’s preview.
- Switch to exclude mode.
- Mark the changing region that should not trigger a content-change alert.
- Review the preview to ensure the content you care about remains in scope and the volatile area is excluded.
Use an Exclude XPath
Alternatively, edit the monitor and enter an Exclude XPath in advanced settings. Wachete’s FAQ gives //div[contains(@class, 'date')] as an example for a date class. Treat it as a pattern to adapt, not a universal selector: inspect the target page’s markup and confirm that the XPath matches only the unwanted element. A selector that is too broad can exclude content you intended to monitor.
Check static versus Dynamic preview
Wachete says most pages can be monitored as static, but JavaScript-generated content may require Dynamic mode. Compare the previews: if the content you need is absent in the default preview and appears after switching to Dynamic, monitor it dynamically. If the preview still does not load the page correctly, Wachete suggests trying Dynamic mode, changing the monitoring location, or both.

- A BETTER READING EXPERIENCE: For busy office workers, EasyRead mode provides a more paper-like experience for when viewing lengthy documents
A Forbidden response is a separate access problem: Wachete says it may mean the site blocks automated bots. It does not, by itself, show that your selected section or XPath is incorrect.
Tell a last check from a last change
The time shown in the monitor list may represent when the page last changed, not when Wachete last checked it. Open the monitor details to see the last check and last change separately before deciding that checks are delayed or alerts are duplicated.

Keep error notifications separate from change alerts
Excluding a page region addresses irrelevant content-change alerts. Error-notification controls address errors instead: Wachete’s FAQ says you can disable all error notifications for a monitor or ignore a particular error from its notification details. Changing those controls does not exclude an ad or timestamp from page monitoring.

For a clean screenshot of a page rather than a Wachete change monitor, ScreenshotNeo offers a one-request screenshot API. It accepts cookie or consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; those steps can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides screenshot tools for AI agents, and the free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.
For example, this cURL request saves a WebP screenshot of the target URL. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options.
