Vodafone TV is a new UK streaming-TV service built around a Vodafone TV Hub. The standalone TV tier costs £10 a month, but only for customers who also have an eligible Vodafone mobile or broadband plan. Vodafone TV Essential costs £17 a month and adds Netflix Standard with Ads and HBO Max Standard with Ads. An Ultimate bundle for eligible mobile customers is listed at £25.50 a month. All three are 24-month plans with £1.50 annual increases each 1 April, so the headline price is not the same as your total household bill.
Vodafone TV plans and prices
Vodafone’s launch announcement lists these current prices and inclusions:
| Plan | Price | What Vodafone says is included | Key qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vodafone TV | £10/month | Freely, more than 150 additional live channels, 300+ cloud games, app downloads, Box Office and selected Dolby Vision/Atmos content | Requires a Vodafone mobile or broadband plan; Netflix and HBO Max are not included |
| Vodafone TV Essential | £17/month | Everything in Vodafone TV, plus Netflix Standard with Ads and HBO Max Standard with Ads | Requires an eligible Vodafone plan |
| Vodafone TV Ultimate | £25.50/month | Essential, plus Disney+ Standard and Prime | Vodafone’s announcement identifies this bundle for mobile customers |
Vodafone’s official figure for Ultimate is £25.50 a month. A lower £22.50 figure appeared in third-party launch coverage, but the current Vodafone announcement should be treated as authoritative unless the live checkout shows a change.

Limited-time Vodafone broadband offer
New customers taking Pro Broadband can receive Vodafone TV Essential at no extra cost for the first 24 months of the Pro Broadband contract. Vodafone states that this offer runs until 28 October 2026; eligibility and checkout terms should be confirmed before ordering.
Vodafone also says existing Vodafone Together customers with a Pay Monthly mobile line can add Pro Broadband and TV with a further £4 monthly saving. Under the stated offer, Pro Broadband plus Essential is £35 a month. This is a bundle price, not a generally available £35 TV price.

What the Vodafone TV Hub does
Live television without a dish or aerial
The hub combines Freely with more than 150 additional live channels. Vodafone says Freely provides over 70 live channels and thousands of hours of on-demand programming from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and other broadcasters, delivered over the internet rather than through a satellite dish or aerial.
Apps, search and profiles
The device supports downloadable Google Play apps, profile pages, smart search and parental controls. That makes it possible to search across supported services instead of opening each app separately, although individual subscriptions and their restrictions still apply.
Cloud gaming
Vodafone advertises more than 300 cloud games. Games can be controlled with a smartphone or a paired Bluetooth controller. Independent launch coverage says the Hub does not include a controller, and no specific compatible model has been established here, so treat a Bluetooth game controller as an optional extra and check compatibility before buying.

4K and sound formats
The Hub supports 4K, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos on selected content. Vodafone’s footnote says Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos are not available on HBO Max Standard with Ads, so support for the box does not mean every programme or subscription tier uses those formats.
Platform technology
Vodafone says the Hub is powered by Netgem PLEIO. That indicates the platform lineage, but a separate retail Netgem Pleio device should not be assumed to have Vodafone’s subscriptions, pricing or service terms.

Is Vodafone TV really a Sky Stream rival?
Yes, in the sense that both are dish-free television services delivered through a streaming box. Vodafone’s Consumer Director has explicitly described Sky Stream as a product the company wants to compete with. The offers are not interchangeable, however: Vodafone concentrates on Freely, UK live channels, Android TV apps, cloud gaming and Netflix/HBO Max bundles, while Sky’s channel and programme rights differ.

Compare the complete bill, not the headline TV fee
- Total commitment: Vodafone’s £10, £17 or £25.50 TV charge normally sits on top of an eligible Vodafone mobile or broadband plan. Include that underlying service and the scheduled £1.50 TV increases.
- Contract and exit terms: Vodafone TV is a 24-month commitment. Check the rival’s current term, cancellation rules and early-termination charges at checkout.
- Streaming tiers: Essential includes the ad-supported Netflix Standard and HBO Max Standard tiers. Ad-free upgrades or other app subscriptions can cost extra.
- Channels and rights: Make a list of the channels and programmes you actually watch. A larger bundle name does not guarantee access to the same content.
- Hardware: Vodafone includes the TV Hub, cloud games and Google Play app support. Gaming may require a separate Bluetooth controller.
- Eligibility: Vodafone TV is tied to a Vodafone mobile or broadband relationship, except where a specific promotion changes the effective price.
How the published Sky comparison fits
Cord Busters reported a £24-a-month Sky Ultimate TV package on a 24-month contract, including Sky channels, Netflix Standard with Ads, Disney+ Standard with Ads, HBO Max Basic with Ads, Hayu and discovery+. That was a 2 October 2026 independent snapshot, not a permanent official Sky quote. Verify Sky’s current checkout and exact tiers before comparing.
Even on that snapshot, Vodafone Essential at £17 is not automatically “better value” than Sky at £24: the services, channels, advertising tiers and required underlying plans are different.
Switching and early-leaving costs
Vodafone says customers moving both broadband and TV may receive up to £300 toward early-leaving fees. One Touch Switch can manage a broadband transfer, but Vodafone cautions that TV services may need to be cancelled separately, depending on the previous provider. Confirm what is being cancelled and which charges are covered before the switch completes.

Why Vodafone says people want a simpler TV service
Vodafone commissioned Opinium to poll 2,000 nationally representative UK adults between 25 and 29 September 2026. In that company-commissioned poll:
- 40% said they paid for TV services they did not regularly use.
- 35% had not changed provider in the previous five years.
- 16% cited the perceived hassle of switching.
- 12% cited concerns about exit fees.
- One in 10 said they struggled to keep track of multiple apps or subscriptions.
- 18% named searching across services as their biggest TV frustration.
Rob Winterschladen, Consumer Director at VodafoneThree, described Vodafone TV as “a smarter alternative” intended to bring entertainment together and cut unnecessary costs. In a What Hi-Fi? interview, he said the ambition was to compete with Apple TV and Sky Stream.
Who should consider Vodafone TV?
It makes sense if you already use Vodafone
Existing Vodafone mobile or broadband customers can access the service without adding another provider relationship. Essential is particularly straightforward if you would otherwise pay separately for Netflix with Ads and HBO Max with Ads.
It needs more scrutiny if you are switching only for television
Someone without a Vodafone service must include the qualifying mobile or broadband plan in the calculation. A nominal £10 TV fee can therefore be misleading when compared with a standalone streaming package.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteCheck the content before committing for 24 months
Freely and the additional live channels may suit viewers who want UK broadcast television, while Sky customers may prioritise specific Sky channels or sports and entertainment rights. Use the actual channel lists and app tiers, not just the bundle names, before accepting a long contract.
What to verify before ordering
- Confirm that your Vodafone mobile or broadband plan qualifies.
- Check the live monthly price, the 24-month term and the £1.50 April increases.
- Read the included Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+ and Prime tiers carefully, including advertising.
- Check whether the programmes and channels you watch are available.
- Confirm whether your television supports the Hub’s connection and desired 4K, Dolby Vision or Dolby Atmos formats.
- Budget for a Bluetooth controller if you want to use cloud gaming.
- If switching broadband, ask which TV service must be cancelled separately and how any early-leaving contribution works.
- Recheck the Pro Broadband promotion deadline and eligibility if relying on the “included” Essential offer.
The Bottom Line
Vodafone TV is a credible Sky Stream alternative, but £10 a month is an entry price tied to a Vodafone plan. Compare the full two-year bill, annual increases, ad-supported subscription tiers and channel rights before deciding; for existing Vodafone customers, Essential at £17 is the most significant value proposition.
