The new VisionQuest trailer sets up a fight for Vision’s survival, but Disney has not officially confirmed “four villains.” Ultron is the one threat named in the show’s official synopsis; Paladin, Raza and Jocasta are identified as additional opposing figures in entertainment coverage, with their precise roles still unclear.
Who are the four threats associated with the VisionQuest trailer?
The trailer and official synopsis point to four figures discussed as threats to Vision, but they do not establish four equally confirmed villains. Disney confirms Ultron’s place in Vision’s internal conflict. GamesRadar and TechRadar reporting identifies Paladin, Raza and Jocasta as additional opposition figures associated with the series.

| Figure | What is established | Evidence and performer |
|---|---|---|
| Ultron | An AI persona embedded in Vision’s programming whose influence Vision must resist. | Confirmed in Disney’s official synopsis; James Spader plays Ultron. |
| Paladin | Reported as a bounty hunter pursuing Vision. | Reported by GamesRadar and TechRadar; the performer is not identified in the official synopsis or the cited coverage summary. |
| Raza | Reported as the returning Iron Man character and an opposing figure. | Reported by GamesRadar; Faran Tahir plays Raza. |
| Jocasta | Reported as a character associated with the opposition to Vision; her exact role is not established in Disney’s synopsis. | Reported by GamesRadar and TechRadar; T’Nia Miller is reported to play her. |
So “four villains” is a punchy way to describe the trailer’s apparent threats, not an official Marvel character list or confirmation that every figure is a villain. Ultron is explicitly part of the central conflict; the other three are reported threats whose motives and exact functions remain uncertain.
What the trailer confirms about Vision’s story
Disney describes Vision as rebooted and in hiding after escaping people who sought to weaponize him. Looking for a new purpose, he consults AI personas stored in his programming: Friday, Edith, Jarvis and Ultron. A bounty on Vision’s head ends his quiet existence and sends him on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son, reincarnated.
#1 Best Overall
The synopsis frames the conflict as more than a chase: Vision must evade capture, confront his nature, resist Ultron’s influence and work out who Thomas is. It confirms that White Vision is back in the story, but it does not resolve Thomas’s identity or explain how the reported opposing characters fit into the plot.
