Use the scope of the setting to decide whether it matches the problem. If the animation appears only while a game is running, the in-game suppression option is relevant to check. If it appears while Big Picture is sitting at its home interface with no game active, a gameplay-only setting does not establish that the idle behavior will stop. Think of the desired result before changing anything: an idle screen with no animation, an idle screen that eventually goes dark, and a screen that remains awake during a game are different goals. The screensaver setting concerns the animation. Display sleep concerns when the display turns off, while Steam’s battery and AC idle timers are separate idle controls.
