What happened to the first Pixel Watch metal link band?
The headline’s “nearly here” refers to a 2022 report, not a current launch. On October 24, 2022, Chrome Unboxed reported that Ringke had introduced its Pixel Watch-specific Metal One Band in silver and black. The report described it as an early legitimate third-party metal-band attempt.
Google’s own alternative arrived later: the company announced on June 20, 2023, that its Metal Links Band was available for $199.99. Google’s Pixel Watch team said: “Metal Links bands are now available at the online Google Store and in Google retail locations for $199.99.” The current Google Store listing still includes the band in its accessory catalog.

Will Google’s Metal Links Band fit Pixel Watch 2, 3, 4 or 5?
Google lists compatibility with Pixel Watch, Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Watch 3, Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Watch 5, provided you choose the version for the corresponding case size. The band comes in 41 mm and 45 mm versions; a 41 mm band is not the right match for a 45 mm case, or vice versa.

Choose the size by wrist measurement
- 41 mm band: fits wrists measuring 137–203 mm.
- 45 mm band: fits wrists measuring 140–215 mm.
Google includes extra links and a sizing tool to adjust the fit. Check the product listing for your watch generation and case size before ordering, particularly if shopping in a region where the available models may differ.
Is Google’s $200 metal band worth it?
Google’s $199.99 launch price buys a manufacturer-listed stainless-steel option with documented sizing, included adjustment links and a tool, plus stated compatibility across the listed Pixel Watch generations. That makes it the clearest choice if you want Google’s own accessory and want fit details spelled out before purchase.

Ringke is the more affordable comparison on the prices reported at launch: its planned $99 price was roughly half of Google’s $199.99 launch price. But that is historical pricing, not a guarantee of what Ringke costs or whether it is available now. The 2022 report also does not establish Ringke’s current case-size fit, adjustment kit, water resistance or support terms, so verify those details on the exact listing before buying.

Treat it as a dress or everyday-style band, not the band to wear for workouts, swimming or other activities where sweat or water exposure is likely. The available information does not establish Ringke’s water or sweat resistance, so do not assume it is suitable for those uses without confirmation from the product listing.
