Why Tokyo Drift moves from third to sixth
Tokyo Drift was the third movie released, but its place in the story comes later. Subsequent films follow Han’s story before the events depicted in Tokyo Drift, so moving the film after Fast & Furious 6 makes that continuity easier to follow. The change is about the story’s chronology; it should not be read as a precise account of when the filmmakers decided to rearrange the movies.
