Yes, The Division 2 is playable solo, and PC players already have cross-play and cross-progression across supported PC storefronts. PlayStation, Xbox, and PC cross-play is scheduled to roll out in stages during November 2026; it is not fully available yet, and cross-play does not mean console saves transfer between platforms. The next expansion, Echoes of Central Park, launches on 3 November with a solo-or-co-op campaign and a new endgame area. For outages, check Ubisoft’s official Division 2 news hub and its maintenance announcements rather than treating a player-count chart as a server-status report.
Does The Division 2 have cross-play?
Yes, but the answer depends on your platform. PC players can currently matchmake across supported PC storefronts, including Steam, Epic, and Ubisoft Connect. Cross-play between PC and consoles, and between PlayStation and Xbox, is the November 2026 rollout—not a feature that is already fully switched on as of late October.
Ubisoft Help describes existing PC cross-play as automatic and enabled by default. That covers the supported PC platforms; it does not mean a PC player can already join a PlayStation or Xbox player. Ubisoft announced in August 2026 that cross-play would launch in November after work to rebuild parts of the game’s online architecture.

The wider rollout is planned in stages. The 3 November expansion update is expected to add the cross-play controls to the interface, though the toggle is not expected to function that day. PC players are scheduled to move to the new environment on 10 November, initially matching only with other PC players. PlayStation and Xbox are expected to join around mid-November if the environment is stable. Ubisoft’s stated target is to have the feature fully available by Year 8 Season 4; the exact Season 4 date has not been announced.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Once the feature is active for a player’s platform, cross-play is expected to be on by default. Ubisoft says players can turn it off from the Character Selection screen. With it enabled, matchmaking can include players from supported platforms who also have it enabled; with it disabled, matchmaking is limited to the player’s own platform. Ubisoft’s stated goal is to bring more Agents into the same matchmaking pool and help shorten queues.
The schedule should be read as a rollout plan, not a guaranteed day-by-day service commitment. In particular, the console join date is conditional on stability. Clan migration is planned alongside the platform changes, and capacity is set to rise from 50 to 100 members. Ubisoft has also said leaderboards will reset and reflect cross-play settings. Clan-name collisions may result in a temporary replacement name; reporting on Ubisoft’s guidance says the original leader can restore or change the name after logging in.
When does Division 2 cross-play come out?
The cross-platform rollout is scheduled for November 2026, in stages. A PC-only public test server (PTS) runs from 30 October to 2 November; it is a technical test, not the launch of console-PC matchmaking.

- 3 November: Echoes of Central Park launches and the client is expected to show the cross-play interface and toggle. The toggle is scheduled to appear before it becomes functional.
- 10 November: PC players are scheduled to migrate to the new environment. During this stage, they are still expected to match only with PC players.
- Mid-November: PlayStation and Xbox are expected to be added if the environment is stable. Ubisoft has not specified an exact day.
- By Year 8 Season 4: Ubisoft’s target for the feature to be fully available. The Season 4 calendar date is not confirmed.
If you see claims that all platforms can play together during the October PTS, distinguish the test from the rollout: Ubisoft’s announcement describes a PC PTS. The cross-platform migration comes later. No special preparation is expected for clan migration, although players should watch for any clan-name notice and confirm their clan after the transition.
Does The Division 2 have cross-progression?
On PC, yes: Ubisoft supports automatic cross-progression among Epic, Steam, and Ubisoft Connect when you use the same Ubisoft account. Console-to-console and console-to-PC save transfers are not supported according to Ubisoft Help. The planned November cross-play rollout does not, by itself, establish that saves will transfer across platforms.
| Platforms or purchase | What carries over |
|---|---|
| Supported PC storefronts | Progress and supported content can carry between Epic, Steam, and Ubisoft Connect when linked to the same Ubisoft account. |
| Xbox to PlayStation, or between consoles | Progress does not transfer; a character’s progress is bound to its platform account. |
| Console to PC | Cross-progression is not supported in Ubisoft Help’s current guidance. |
Cross-progression is separate from cross-play: one lets you bring progress to another supported platform, while the other lets people on different platforms play together. Ubisoft’s content-sharing guidance also says some eligible PC purchases and in-game content can be shared between supported PC platforms. It lists items such as apparel, gear, Premium Credits, the Season Pass, skill visuals, specialisations, weapon skins, and selected expansions or passes. Accounts must be linked, the game must be launched on both platforms, and missing content may need to be installed. Do not assume that every purchase or every platform is covered.

Can I transfer my Xbox save to PlayStation?
No. Ubisoft’s current support guidance says console cross-progression is not supported, and progress made on Xbox remains tied to the Xbox account rather than appearing on PlayStation. The same limitation applies to the reverse direction and to moving a console character to PC. Cross-play plans for November concern shared matchmaking, not a promise of shared saves.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsCan I play The Division 2 solo?
Yes. The campaign, open-world activities, and many missions can be played alone, and the game presents campaign, co-op, and PvP as distinct ways to play. Solo is a viable way to level and follow the story; co-op becomes more important for activities built around tougher group encounters.
The forthcoming Echoes of Central Park expansion is explicitly sold as a single-player or online co-op experience. It adds AI companions—Brayleigh Callahan, a sniper; Elwood Franklin, a protector; and Morse Feeney, an assault specialist. Reporting on the companion system says one companion can accompany a solo player at a time; in co-op, the companion is assigned to the group leader. Replayed missions let players choose a companion.
The expansion includes a Level 40 Boost so new or returning players can jump into its campaign without first completing the entire base game. That is useful if your main goal is the new story, but it does not mean a boost teaches the game’s systems or automatically equips you for every high-difficulty activity. The PlayStation Store listing also specifies a 50-space increase to stash capacity.
Solo players can also take part in seasonal content. For example, Ubisoft’s October 2026 update describes a special solo encounter in West End: if the Necromancer appears while you are alone, you face the more dangerous Necromancer Unleashed version. That is a warning to prepare for a harder encounter, not evidence that every endgame activity is balanced for a lone player.
Can you do The Division 2 endgame solo?
Some of it, yes. Open-world play, seasonal events, classified assignments, and the campaign are solo-friendly, but the hardest activities are designed with squads in mind. Escalation can be matchmade, while the Dark Zone, Conflict PvP, clans, raids, and incursions are more naturally group-oriented. Matchmaking can help find teammates, but it does not turn every activity into a solo mode.

In the late-October 2026 endgame, the game is in Year 8 Season 3: Red Horizon, launched on 27 August. Cleaners have returned to Washington, D.C., and seasonal systems include Pressure Gauge modifiers. The Toxic PvE Dark Zone, introduced as a seasonal mode, is now permanent following community feedback. The PvP Dark Zone rotation includes Blackout, which permits the full SHD Watch, Expertise, and Prototype Gear systems.
Escalation received a significant change in Title Update Y8S3.2, live since around 15 October. Starting an activity no longer spends the tokens required to enter; instead, you need to hold a minimum balance that matches the tier. If a run fails or you disconnect, those tokens stay in your inventory. Hosts and teammates now receive the same completion rewards.
| Escalation tier completed | Tokens awarded |
|---|---|
| Tier 0 | 1 |
| Tier 1 | 2 |
| Tier 2 | 3 |
| Tier 3 | 4 |
| Tier 4 | 5 |
| Tier 5 | 7 |
| Tier 6 | 9 |
| Tier 7 | 12 |
| Tier 8 | 17 |
| Tier 9 | 22 |
| Tier 10 | 30 |
Those are completion rewards, not the minimum entry balance: for example, Tier 5 requires at least five tokens to start and awards seven on completion. Ubisoft said vendor prices were unchanged and that more Escalation improvements were planned for the next season. Community videos show solo Escalation clears, but that demonstrates feasibility for some players rather than an official claim that the activity is designed or balanced for solo play.

The Red Moon Unleashed event runs from 15 October through 3 November 2026. It adds the Lunatic modifier, Moon Cultists, and world bosses including the Necromancer, Risen Hunter, and Bloody Houndsman. Six Revenant Bounties have chances to award exotic weapons, including Eagle Bearer, Regulus, Steel & Sons, Vindicator, Prima Donna, and The Bighorn. Cultist kills award Event Keys at thresholds of 14 on Normal, 14 on Hard, 12 on Challenging, and 10 on Heroic. Daily Boost halves those requirements for the first 150 cultist kills each day; the reset is 08:00 UTC. Unused Event Keys are removed when the event ends, while unused Apparel Keys convert back into Premium Credits at 100 Credits per key. The event also includes the Georgetown Dead Zone classified assignment.
What is Echoes of Central Park?
Echoes of Central Park is a paid expansion launching on 3 November 2026, requiring the base game. It adds a story campaign in Central Park and the Upper West Side, a new set of skills and gear, and a replayable endgame experience in Central Park. Ubisoft describes the area as roughly twice the size of Battle for Brooklyn.
The story begins with a distress call from Miranda Veer, CEO of Veer Corp, and sends Agents into a park sealed since the outbreak. The expansion takes a darker, horror-leaning tone while remaining within the game’s Tom Clancy setting. It introduces six skill variants, a new gear set, and the exotic weapon The Ratel (not “The Rattle”). After the campaign, players can return to Central Park for fresh challenges and exclusive rewards; the first visit casts the Agent as hunted prey, while the replayable endgame shifts the role toward hunter.

The expansion also offers three AI companions, a Level 40 Boost, and 50 additional stash spaces. Ubisoft’s Steam listing says the pre-purchase cosmetic is the NY Purifier Mask, delivered at launch; the Deluxe Edition includes three companion-inspired outfits and an exotic weapon skin for The Ratel. Reported US prices are $19.99 for the standard DLC and $29.99 for Deluxe, but storefront prices and availability can vary by region and can change, so check the live store listing before buying.
For players returning after a long break, the Level 40 Boost is the most direct route into the new campaign. If you want the original story and its progression first, play the base campaign and expansions in sequence instead. The new Central Park endgame is an addition to The Division 2; Survivors, by contrast, is a separate extraction-and-survival test program and should not be confused with the game’s current endgame.

The available data’s latest status information, dated 30 October 2026, did not include an official report that the global game servers were down on 29 or 30 October. That is not a live uptime guarantee. Ubisoft does not appear to provide a public, always-on green/red status dashboard for The Division 2 in the sources available here, so check the official news hub and The Division Game’s official social posts for maintenance or outage announcements.
The last dated global maintenance in the available information was for Title Update Y8S3.2 on 15 October 2026. The announced window was about five hours, beginning at 9:30 AM CEST / 3:30 AM EDT / 12:30 AM PDT. Planned changes to the cross-play environment, the 3 November DLC launch, and later November platform migrations may bring maintenance, queues, or interface changes. A migration notice or long queue is not necessarily evidence of a full outage.
Steam charts can provide context about Steam users, but they cannot answer whether Ubisoft’s servers are up. Deadgames.gg reported 3,862 Steam clients at 10:00 AM UTC on 29 October and 4,950 at midnight UTC on 30 October. September averaged 5,213 concurrent Steam players and peaked at 11,069, while March’s reported Steam peak was 27,482. These figures cover Steam only, include people who may be idle, and exclude console, Epic, and Ubisoft Connect players. They are not an all-platform population count or an uptime measure. Unofficial tracker sites should likewise be treated as community tools, not Ubisoft status pages.
There is one separate regional shutdown to distinguish from global service status: Tencent’s mainland China version is scheduled to stop operating on 14 December 2026. New registrations and in-game currency purchases stopped on 12 October, and the related forums and support are scheduled to close on 22 December. This concerns the mainland China service, not the global Ubisoft servers.

Is The Division 2 still being updated?
Yes. The game received Year 8 Season 3, the October Y8S3.2 update and Red Moon Unleashed event, and has a November expansion and cross-play rollout on the schedule described above. Ubisoft has also previewed a Year 8 Season 4 direction, including the return of Black Tusk, a hint of White Tusk, changes intended to reduce Prototype Gear randomness, and more player control over Escalation challenges and rewards. Ubisoft has not announced Season 4’s exact calendar date.
That roadmap is evidence of continued updates, not a guarantee that every announced feature will arrive on an exact day. For the latest maintenance windows, rollout changes, and launch notices, use the official Division 2 news hub.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my Division 2 character transfer when cross-play launches?
No transfer has been announced. Ubisoft’s current guidance keeps console progress tied to its platform account, and the November feature is about matchmaking; check Ubisoft Help again if it publishes revised cross-progression terms.
Can I play with friends who turned cross-play off?
Under Ubisoft’s announced settings, players who disable cross-play are matched only with others on their own platform who have it off. Coordinate the setting with your group if matchmaking does not place you together.
Does the Central Park DLC include the base game?
No; the expansion requires The Division 2 base game. Confirm the edition and platform on the storefront before purchase, especially if you are buying a code or bundle.
What happens to unused Red Moon event keys?
Unused Event Keys are removed when Red Moon Unleashed ends. Apparel Keys are treated differently: unused ones convert to Premium Credits at 100 Credits each.
