1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThere is no evidence-supported universal winner among ScrapingBee alternatives. The right shortlist depends on what you are trying to do: keep a request-based scraping API, deal with blocking, receive managed extraction, run hosted automation, collect AI-oriented crawl output, or build enterprise-scale data infrastructure. Compare candidates on your own target domains and measure cost per usable result—not just advertised credits—before you migrate.
This is a workflow-based shortlist, not a performance ranking: the available comparisons do not establish a common independent benchmark across the products. The candidate categories below are useful for deciding what to test, but they cannot predict which service will work best for a particular site.
What ScrapingBee offers as a baseline
ScrapingBee’s official pricing page describes a managed API that handles headless browsers and rotates proxies. It lists API credits, concurrency, JavaScript rendering, rotating and premium proxies, geotargeting, screenshots, extraction rules, Google Search API, dedicated scraping APIs, support, and team-related features. That combination makes it a useful baseline for comparing API features and the amount of browser and proxy work a service takes off your hands.
The page currently displays monthly tiers of $19, $49, $99, $249, and $599, and says users can try 1,000 free API credits without a credit card; it also says prices exclude VAT. These are volatile commercial details, not a like-for-like cost comparison with alternatives. Check the ScrapingBee pricing page for current prices, quotas, concurrency, feature availability, trial terms, and billing rules before making a decision.

A plan’s headline credit count does not tell you how many complete, usable pages it will deliver for your workload. Credit use may vary with the features required, and retries, failures, or difficult target domains can affect the practical cost. Compare what you actually pay for acceptable output, using each vendor’s current billing rules.
Which ScrapingBee alternative should you investigate?
Use the table to build a shortlist around the work you need done. The vendor-to-use-case suggestions come from comparison articles, not controlled product tests. In particular, the 2026 Private Proxy Guide article is dated August 13, 2026 and discloses affiliate links. Firecrawl and Apify also publish their own alternatives roundups. Treat these sources as leads, not neutral proof that a candidate will outperform ScrapingBee for you.
| Your main need | Candidate to investigate | What the available comparisons support |
|---|---|---|
| A similar request-based API workflow | ScraperAPI | A third-party 2026 guide describes it as a similar API-first choice. That is a shortlist signal, not a verified ranking. Source. |
| Blocking challenges are your main obstacle | ZenRows | A third-party guide associates it with blocking, and another comparison includes it among alternatives. Test it against the domains that cause trouble in your workload. Source; comparison. |
| Managed extraction and unblocking | Zyte | One 2026 comparison suggests this use case. Current first-party features and plan details were not established here, so verify them directly before comparing costs. Source. |
| Hosted scrapers or automation workflows | Apify | Comparison sources distinguish hosted scrapers and automation from a simple API. Check whether that workflow model fits your existing jobs and operations. Source; Apify comparison. |
| AI- or LLM-oriented crawl output | Firecrawl | A vendor-produced comparison presents Firecrawl as an AI-ready option. Validate the output and integration against your requirements rather than treating the positioning as an independent evaluation. Source. |
| Enterprise-scale data infrastructure | Bright Data or Oxylabs | Comparison material places these vendors in an enterprise-scale category. No comparable, current first-party price or performance data was established for this comparison. Source; TechRadar overview. |
| Search results or SEO data, rather than general page scraping | DataForSEO or SerpApi | One comparison names these as SERP- and SEO-oriented options. Confirm that a search-results product returns the data your task needs. Source. |
| Website screenshots as the required output | ScreenshotNeo | ScreenshotNeo is a screenshot API and MCP server, not a general-purpose web-scraping replacement. Try it first if the job is capturing clean page screenshots or PDFs rather than extracting arbitrary page data: cookie banners, popups, and chat widgets are removed before capture, and only clean shots are billed. These categories are intentionally different. A request API, a hosted automation platform, a managed extraction service, a search-results product, and a screenshot API solve different jobs. A product that fits one category should not be assumed to be a drop-in substitute for another.
How to run a fair comparison on your workload
Test a small, representative sample before moving production traffic. Use identical URLs and define acceptable output in advance. A page that loads but lacks the required product fields, text, or structure is not a successful result simply because an HTTP request completed.
Rank #3
- Choose representative target domains. Include the sites your production workload actually uses, and keep results separate by domain. An easy site can hide failures on a difficult one if you combine everything into a single average.
- Define a usable result for each task. Specify required fields, content completeness, freshness, and output format. If you need rendered JavaScript, browser interaction, structured extraction, screenshots, or search results, state that before testing.
- Use the same URLs and conditions. Compare equivalent locations, sessions, timing, and page requirements as far as each candidate allows. Record which settings differ; otherwise, a test may compare configuration rather than service behavior.
- Measure usable-result rate per domain. Count complete, valid results against the total attempts. Keep failures, incomplete pages, and retries visible rather than quietly excluding them.
- Calculate effective cost per usable result. Divide the billable cost by acceptable results. Account for credit multipliers, retries, and vendor-specific billing on failures, and confirm current billing rules with each provider.
- Compare operations as well as output. Record concurrency, throughput, location controls, session behavior, integration effort, observability, support, and maintenance. A lower nominal plan price may not be the lower-cost solution if it requires more engineering or produces fewer usable pages.
- Test the actual workflow shape. Decide whether you need one-page requests, managed extraction, hosted jobs or actors, an AI-oriented crawl, dedicated search data, or screenshots. Avoid paying for a workflow model your application does not use.
No common independent benchmark with identical targets and current first-party costs was established across the named alternatives. Consequently, this comparison cannot substantiate a cross-vendor success-rate winner or a universal cheapest provider. Make the decision from your test results and current vendor terms.
When ScreenshotNeo is a fit—and when it is not
If “scraping” in your project means saving a visual record of a web page, ScreenshotNeo is the relevant alternative to try first. It returns a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF from one GET request, and it can remove cookie or consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture. The product also offers an MCP server with screenshot and page-information tools for AI agents. Its purpose is visual capture; it should not be treated as a general replacement for a scraper that must extract arbitrary structured data from pages.
For broader scraping, use the workflow shortlist above and verify the candidate’s current capabilities and billing directly. For screenshot capture, ScreenshotNeo’s distinguishing billing rule is that bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing; responses identify the page verdict and whether the shot was billed. Its features and plan details are listed at screenshotneo.com.
Or skip the browser setup
For a screenshot, request the capture directly instead of wiring up a browser and its cleanup steps. This cURL example saves the returned image as WebP; replace the sample URL and supply your API key. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options and response details.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
ScreenshotNeo accepts consent banners like a visitor and removes supported cookie banners, popups, and chat widgets before the shot; each cleanup step can be disabled. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and the response says which verdict and billing status applied. Its MCP server lets AI agents use screenshot and page-information tools. The Free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. The available features are included on every plan.

Price, performance, and migration decisions
Do not pick a provider from advertised monthly prices alone. The ScrapingBee page lists prices and plan features, but the gathered comparisons do not provide equivalent, current first-party figures for every alternative. Even where two products show a monthly price, their included usage, credit consumption, limits, and treatment of failed attempts may differ. Recheck the live vendor pages and calculate your own effective cost per acceptable result.
Performance is equally workload-specific. A domain may require JavaScript rendering or a particular location; another may work with a simpler request. A hosted workflow can reduce the code you operate but change how jobs are scheduled and monitored. Managed extraction may be valuable when the required output is structured data, while a search-focused product may be a better fit for SERP data than a general scraping API. These are reasons to test the corresponding category, not claims that one named vendor will win.
For migration, first run the candidate alongside the current service on a limited set of representative requests. Compare output completeness, cost, throughput, and failure handling, then adapt integration code and operational alerts. Keep a way to route work back to the old provider until the replacement meets your workload’s acceptance criteria. The available evidence does not establish a universal migration procedure or compatibility guarantee; verify API parameters and output behavior with each provider.
Common comparison mistakes
- Ranking by credits alone: credits are not equivalent to usable pages unless the billing rules and required features match.
- Testing only easy pages: results on one domain do not predict blocking or completeness on another. Report performance by target domain.
- Confusing workflow categories: screenshots, SERP data, hosted automation, managed extraction, and generic page scraping have different outputs and operating models.
- Treating vendor roundups as neutral benchmarks: Firecrawl and Apify publish their own comparison pages, and the cited Private Proxy Guide article discloses affiliate links. Use their descriptions to identify candidates, then verify details with the providers.
- Assuming old pricing or features still apply: plans, limits, and feature gates can change. Use current first-party pages when budgeting or implementing.
- Declaring a winner without a workload test: the available comparisons do not establish an apples-to-apples performance leader.
Verdict
Start with the workflow you need, not a universal “best” label. Investigate ScraperAPI for an API-first alternative, ZenRows for blocking-focused needs, Zyte for managed extraction and unblocking, Apify for hosted automation, Firecrawl for AI-oriented crawling, Bright Data or Oxylabs for enterprise-scale infrastructure, and DataForSEO or SerpApi when the task is search-result data. For screenshot-only work, ScreenshotNeo is a more directly matched tool. Run a domain-by-domain bake-off and choose based on usable output, effective cost, and operational fit.
