If you want to replace a Logitech F710, choose based on how you want to connect: the 8BitDo Ultimate 2.4G is the closest type of option to investigate if you want a wireless USB receiver; the Xbox Wireless Controller is the straightforward pick if you want Microsoft-listed Windows and Xbox support and have Bluetooth for wireless PC play; and the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 is worth considering if you need the broader platform list that includes Windows, Android, Apple devices, and SteamOS.

The F710 is a PC gamepad that connects over 2.4 GHz through a USB nano receiver and has dual-motor vibration. Logitech says it is not compatible with Xbox 360 consoles, so it should not be treated as an Xbox controller. The alternatives below are not interchangeable variants: check the exact model, your operating system, and the games you play before buying.

1. 8BitDo Ultimate 2.4G: choose it for a receiver-based PC setup

The Ultimate 2.4G is the option to examine first if you want to keep using a wireless USB receiver rather than rely on your PC’s Bluetooth. 8BitDo provides a model-specific PC setup FAQ and PC software support. Those details make it a relevant F710 replacement candidate, but they do not establish universal compatibility with every computer or game.

2. Xbox Wireless Controller: choose it for documented Windows and Xbox support

Microsoft lists the Xbox Wireless Controller for Windows 10/11, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. For wireless play on a Windows PC, Microsoft documents Bluetooth connectivity; your computer needs compatible Bluetooth hardware. If it does not have Bluetooth, you would need to add compatible support or use a wired connection rather than assume it can connect wirelessly through an F710-style receiver.

What to check before replacing an F710

  • Operating system and games: Match the exact controller variant to your computer’s operating system, then check support for the games you play. A platform appearing on a product page does not settle every game-specific compatibility question.
  • Wireless method: The F710 uses a 2.4 GHz USB nano receiver. The Xbox controller’s documented wireless Windows connection is Bluetooth. The two 8BitDo models have distinct product pages and setup instructions; do not infer one model’s connection details from the other.
  • Bluetooth availability: If choosing the Xbox controller for wireless PC play, check that your PC has compatible Bluetooth support. If it does not, factor in adding Bluetooth or connecting by cable.
  • Battery and charging: The cited Microsoft page specifies standard AA batteries and gives a qualified estimate. The cited 8BitDo materials do not state comparable power details, so check the exact product listing before purchase.
  • Controls and feel: The available manufacturer information does not establish which option feels closest to the F710, including D-pad preference or hand fit. If feel matters, inspect the exact model in person when possible or check return terms before ordering.
  • Local price and stock: Prices and availability vary by market and retailer; compare current listings where you plan to buy. No consistent regional price comparison is established here.

How to make the choice

  1. Want a USB receiver rather than Bluetooth? Start with the 8BitDo Ultimate 2.4G and verify its model-specific PC setup for your operating system.
  2. Want Microsoft-listed Windows and Xbox support? Consider the Xbox Wireless Controller, and confirm your PC has Bluetooth if you want wireless play.
  3. Need the broadest named platform list among these picks? Check the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless Controller’s listed Windows, Android, Apple, and SteamOS support against your actual devices and games.
  4. Unsure about D-pad or grip? Do not choose on an assumed F710 feel match; the cited specifications do not establish one.
