For home charging, Tesla recommends a Wall Connector; a Mobile Connector can use a standard 120 V outlet for slow charging or a suitable 240 V outlet for faster charging. Cybertruck uses a NACS charge port, but public-station and adapter compatibility depends on your market and equipment. For road trips, use the vehicle’s Trip Planner and navigate to fast chargers to precondition the battery.
How do you charge a Cybertruck at home?
Tesla recommends its Wall Connector for home use, describing it as the faster option with additional functionality. The right setup depends on the available electrical circuit, vehicle configuration, and the installation rules where you live. Have a qualified electrician assess the wiring and intended load before installing equipment; do not assume an existing outlet or circuit can support the desired charging current.
Wall Connector
Tesla’s home-charging guidance discusses a 40 A circuit for the Wall Connector. The actual charging result depends on the installation and vehicle configuration, so treat the circuit figure as setup guidance rather than a promised charge time. See Tesla’s home-charging guidance.
Mobile Connector on a 240 V outlet
Tesla describes Mobile Connector use with a 240 V outlet and NEMA 14-50 adapter on a 50 A breaker, with 32 A output. Its Mobile Connector product page lists up to 30 miles of range per hour from 240 V, depending on vehicle model; this is a general product-page figure, not a Cybertruck-specific guarantee. Confirm that the correct adapter is included or compatible for your region and vehicle. See Tesla’s Mobile Connector information.

Mobile Connector on a standard 120 V outlet
A standard household outlet is an option when faster charging is unavailable, but it is slow for a Cybertruck’s large battery. Tesla’s home-charging page gives roughly 2–3 miles of range per hour, while its Mobile Connector page says up to 3 miles per hour depending on vehicle. Cybertruck’s manual cautions that charging below 2 kW will be very slow, particularly in cold weather. These are Tesla’s general figures and guidance, not a guaranteed Cybertruck charging rate.
Tesla says the Mobile Connector bundle includes a 20-foot cable, a NEMA 5-15 adapter for a standard 120 V outlet, and a NEMA 14-50 adapter for 240 V use. Equipment supplied with a vehicle can vary by region and model year, so check what came with yours.

Which adapter do you need for public charging?
Cybertruck’s charge port uses NACS. If a public station does not provide a NACS connector, the Cybertruck manual says to use the appropriate adapter. The required adapter depends on the station’s connector, your market, and Tesla’s compatibility guidance; do not assume an adapter or charging network works universally.
Tesla’s manual specifically says: “Do not use third-party DC charging adapters with Cybertruck.” Check the current manual and Tesla’s regional product guidance before selecting an adapter, especially for DC fast charging. For an adapter-equipped AC session, Tesla notes that you may need to stop charging through the vehicle, mobile app, or station before removing the connector and adapter together. Follow the procedure in the manual for your market.

How should you plan a Cybertruck road trip?
- Use the vehicle’s route planning. Add a fast charger as a navigation destination so Cybertruck can precondition its high-voltage battery for charging.
- Check the predicted charge and stops. Review the vehicle’s predicted state of charge and available charging stops, and keep enough charge to reach the next charger safely.
- Allow for charging conditions. Charging speed varies with battery temperature and state of charge. Tesla says a lower state of charge typically results in faster charging.
- Check site-specific limits. Tesla says high-use Supercharger sites may limit charging to 80% when you are not using Trip Planner, where that feature is available in your market. This is a possible site and use condition, not a universal Cybertruck limit; check the information shown for the charging site.
Should you leave Cybertruck plugged in at home?
Tesla’s Cybertruck Owner’s Manual recommends leaving the vehicle plugged in when it is not in use, stating that this “maintains the Battery at the optimum level of charge.” This is Tesla’s recommendation; follow the current manual for your vehicle and market.
