TekSavvy TV is available in select regions across Canada, not at every Canadian address. TekSavvy’s October 2021 expansion covered named areas in eight provinces beyond its earlier Ontario and Quebec availability. You must also qualify for TekSavvy residential internet service at your address to subscribe.
Where is TekSavvy TV available?
On October 19, 2021, TekSavvy and Hastings Cable Vision announced the service in select regions of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. TekSavvy TV had previously become available to qualifying customers in Ontario and Quebec, according to an Apple App Store release note from September 2020.
Those announcements do not mean the service covers every address in those provinces. TekSavvy’s current service information still describes availability as region-dependent and directs customers to check their address. The company’s public pages do not provide a complete province-by-province or address-level coverage list. Check availability on TekSavvy’s Streaming TV page before choosing a package.
Do you need TekSavvy internet?
Yes. The 2021 launch announcement required TekSavvy residential internet with at least 15 Mbps download. TekSavvy’s current service page says in-home TV works over a TekSavvy internet connection and limits eligibility to select regions. Check that both your address and internet plan qualify; the historical 15 Mbps minimum should not be taken as confirmation that every plan or address is eligible today.

How much does TekSavvy TV cost?
The $20 starting price in the 2021 announcement is historical, not the current listed price. As of October 4, 2026, TekSavvy’s homepage lists Basic at $25 per month and Pick 10 at $20 per month, or $45 per month for the two together. Applicable taxes may be extra.
The same homepage describes a one-month $0 offer for qualifying new residential internet customers in select regions with at least 15 Mbps. After the promotional month, retail pricing applies unless the customer cancels TV during that month. Offers and eligibility can change, so check TekSavvy’s current offer terms and the specific package total before subscribing.

What does the TV service include?
At launch, TekSavvy described more than 150 live HD channels, video on demand, look-back and restart features, and cloud PVR for an additional monthly charge. It also said subscribers could use broadcaster GO apps for selected channels. These are features listed in the 2021 announcement; check the current package and channel details for what is included now.
- Watching at home: TekSavvy says up to six devices in one household can watch live TV. The same channel can play on no more than two devices at once because of programming rights.
- Watching away from home: Selected channels can be streamed within Canada outside the home at no additional TekSavvy subscription fee. Mobile data charges may apply, and GO-app access depends on subscribing to the relevant channel.

Should you use your own device or rent a set-top box?
TekSavvy currently lists its set-top box rental at $8 per month. If you already own a compatible device, using it may avoid that recurring rental charge. Compare the exact model against TekSavvy’s compatibility list, and consider whether it supports the other streaming services your household uses. Confirm current rental terms and any applicable hardware requirements with TekSavvy before ordering.

Who provides TekSavvy TV?
Hastings Cable Vision is the TV service provider. TekSavvy acts as its sales, support and billing agent. In the 2021 launch announcement, TekSavvy CEO and Hastings Cable Vision President Marc Gaudrault described the service as a choice for Canadians’ telecom and video needs; that is a company statement, not an independent assessment of coverage or value.
