The same report says Brooks was formally charged in connection with a reported March 6 driving-under-the-influence incident; the charge is not a finding of guilt.
What the latest update says
The October 1, 2026 report describes Brooks as preparing for Phoenix’s upcoming season. Its account of that preparation is attributed to Rankin’s reporting. The report does not include a direct statement from Brooks about the charge or his preparation.
What Devin Booker said about the team’s response
Booker said the Suns had discussed the matter internally: “Nah, we already addressed it as a team back in February or March, when it happened,” he said. “We kept everything in-house. He addressed the team also. We’re moving on.” Those are Booker’s words, not Brooks’s.
Brooks’s role and recent production
NBA.com lists Brooks as a Phoenix guard-forward, number 3, and displays averages of 20.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game on its player profile. CBS Sports/RotoWire identifies the 20.2-point average as Brooks’s 2025-26 mark across 56 appearances. The NBA.com profile’s displayed rebound and assist averages do not establish the season label in the material available here, so they should not be assigned to 2025-26 without confirmation.
