Yes—if your PC has Windows 11, a 16GB system, DirectX 12, and at least the listed Core i5-8500/Ryzen 5 3500 plus GTX 1070-, RTX 3050-, or RX 580-class graphics hardware with 8GB VRAM. The recommended target raises the CPU to a Core i5-11600K or Ryzen 5 5600X and the GPU to an RTX 3060 or Radeon RX 6600, still with 16GB RAM and 22GB of free storage. These are compatibility targets, not promises of a particular frame rate: the Steam listing does not state test resolution, graphics preset, FPS, ray-tracing settings, or benchmark methodology.
Official PC requirements at a glance
The following figures are the requirements shown on the official Steam listing as of 19 October 2026. “Minimum” means the computer reaches the publisher’s stated entry-level compatibility floor. “Recommended” is the higher target, but it still does not define a guaranteed resolution or FPS.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 11 | Windows 11 |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-8500 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500 | Intel Core i5-11600K (6 cores/12 threads) or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X |
| Memory | 16GB RAM | 16GB RAM |
| Graphics card | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB, GeForce RTX 3050 8GB, or AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 8GB or AMD Radeon RX 6600 8GB |
| Graphics API | DirectX 12 | DirectX 12 |
| Storage | 22GB available space | 22GB available space |
The identical memory and storage figures in both columns are intentional. The step from minimum to recommended is mainly a CPU and GPU upgrade, not a larger RAM requirement.

Minimum compliance is a baseline, not a performance guarantee
If every item in the minimum column is satisfied, your PC meets the published minimum specification. That tells you the hardware and operating-system combination is within the developer’s stated compatibility range. It does not establish a frame rate, image quality, loading time, or stability level.

The Steam page gives no target such as 1080p/60fps, no named preset, and no information about ray tracing. There is also no independent benchmark or published average-FPS result to convert the requirements into a reliable performance prediction. A machine that exactly matches the minimum may need reduced settings, while a faster machine may be limited by a driver, temperature, laptop power mode, or another software issue.
Recommended compliance is the safer target for a new purchase
A PC meeting the recommended column has more graphics and processor headroom than one that only reaches minimum. It is the sensible target if you are buying or upgrading specifically for this game, but it still should not be advertised as a guaranteed 60fps or 4K configuration because those targets have not been published.
Check your own PC step by step
- Verify Windows 11. Open Settings > System > About and read the Windows edition and version. The listed requirement is Windows 11; a Windows 10 installation is below the stated operating-system requirement even if its components are otherwise fast enough.
- Identify the processor. In Settings > System > About, check the processor name. Compare the complete model number, not just “Core i5” or “Ryzen 5.” An i5 from a much older generation is not automatically equivalent to an i5-8500 or i5-11600K.
- Identify the graphics card and VRAM. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc, open Task Manager > Performance > GPU, and record the exact GPU model and dedicated memory. Windows may show an integrated GPU as GPU 0 and a discrete card as GPU 1, so check which adapter the game will use.
- Confirm system memory. In Task Manager > Performance > Memory, verify at least 16GB installed. Available memory will be lower while applications are open; close browsers and launchers before testing, but do not mistake free memory for installed capacity.
- Check DirectX 12. Press Win + R, enter
dxdiag, and press Enter. The System tab shows the DirectX version. On the Display tabs, inspect the feature information and driver status for the active GPU. The game lists DirectX 12, so the card and its driver must support that API. - Measure free storage. Open File Explorer > This PC and check the drive where Steam will install the game. Leave at least 22GB free; retaining additional space for updates, shader caches, and Windows temporary files reduces the chance of an installation or patch failure.
- Classify the result. Passing every minimum item means “meets published minimum.” Passing every recommended item means “meets published recommended.” If one component falls short, classify the whole system by that shortfall rather than averaging unmatched parts.
How the CPU requirements compare
Minimum processors
The Core i5-8500 and Ryzen 5 3500 are the two named minimum options. They are specific model references, not a blanket approval for every six-core processor. Check the exact generation and suffix on your computer; a low-power mobile chip with a similar name can behave differently from a desktop part.

The recommended choices are the Core i5-11600K and Ryzen 5 5600X. The Intel model is explicitly identified as a six-core/12-thread processor, and the Ryzen 5 5600X is in the same six-core/12-thread class. More cores alone do not prove that a different chip qualifies: architecture, sustained clock speed, cooling, and laptop power limits also affect real performance.

How the GPU requirements compare
Minimum graphics cards
The minimum list names the GTX 1070 8GB, RTX 3050 8GB, and Radeon RX 580 8GB. The shared 8GB VRAM figure is important for texture and world data, but VRAM capacity is not a complete measure of speed. A card can have 8GB and still differ substantially in rendering performance, power limits, or driver behavior.
Recommended graphics cards
The recommended list is the GeForce RTX 3060 8GB or Radeon RX 6600 8GB. If you are replacing a card, an RTX 3060 8GB is the clearest model-specific upgrade path because it is named directly in the official recommendation. Do not treat a newer-sounding model number as proof of equivalence without checking its VRAM and actual performance class.
Laptop graphics need extra caution
The listing names GPU models but does not distinguish desktop and laptop variants. Mobile versions can have lower power limits and different clock speeds, so a laptop carrying the same family name may not perform like a full-power desktop card. Use the exact model shown in Task Manager and treat any prediction beyond requirement compliance as an estimate.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?

If your PC falls below minimum
- Windows mismatch: Upgrade to a supported Windows 11 installation only after confirming that the computer meets Windows 11’s own processor, firmware, and security requirements. The game’s listing does not make an unsupported Windows 10 setup an exception.
- Less than 16GB RAM: Increasing system memory can remove capacity pressure, but it will not compensate for an underpowered GPU. Check motherboard limits and use matched modules where possible.
- Insufficient VRAM or GPU speed: A graphics-card replacement is the direct fix. The RTX 3060 8GB and RX 6600 8GB are the named recommended options; moving to a weaker card with more advertised memory is not automatically an upgrade.
- Older CPU: A processor replacement may require a new motherboard and memory. Compare the complete platform cost before buying a faster chip that your current socket cannot support.
- Storage shortage: Free at least 22GB on the installation drive. If the drive is nearly full, clear temporary files or install to another drive rather than relying on a last-minute few gigabytes.
Do not combine mismatched assumptions—for example, calling a system “recommended” because it has an RTX 3060 while it has only 8GB of RAM or an unsupported operating system. The recommended label applies only when every listed item is met.

If your PC meets the requirements but the game has problems
Confirm that the game uses the discrete GPU
On a laptop or a desktop with integrated graphics, open Settings > System > Display > Graphics, add the game executable if necessary, select Options, and choose High performance. Recheck Task Manager while the game is running. A compliant discrete card cannot help if Windows launches the game on a weaker integrated adapter.
Update the operating system and graphics driver
Install pending Windows updates and the current driver supplied for your NVIDIA or AMD card. Restart after installation. If a problem begins immediately after a driver update, a clean reinstall or rollback can isolate a driver fault; keep a record of the previous version before changing it.
Check thermals, power, and background load
Desktop and laptop components can reduce clock speeds when they overheat or operate in a quiet battery-saving mode. Test while connected to AC power, set the system to its normal performance profile, and watch CPU/GPU temperatures and utilization. Close recording software, browser tabs, overlays, and unnecessary launchers one at a time so you can identify a conflict instead of disabling everything blindly.
Separate installation problems from performance problems
An installation error usually points to free space, permissions, a damaged download, or a storage-device issue; it is not evidence that the GPU is too slow. A crash after launch can involve drivers or DirectX components. A low frame rate with stable operation is a performance question. Record the exact error text and whether it occurs before or after the main menu before troubleshooting further.

Release date, platform, and what the game is
Steam lists the PC release for 21 October 2026. A SEGA Japanese corporate announcement gives 22 October 2026 for its stated regional schedule and confirms PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam). Storefront timing can vary by region, so use the date and countdown displayed in your own Steam account rather than assuming one global launch hour.
Steam describes Stupid Never Dies as a single-player 3D action RPG from GPTRACK50. You play Davy, a weak zombie who devours enemies, steals their powers, transforms into 11 Styles, and replaces body parts with Overtech gear while trying to defeat KOM and revive Julia. SEGA’s announcement says SEGA and GPTRACK50 entered a worldwide co-publishing arrangement and describes the project as being built by staff associated with Devil May Cry, Dragon’s Dogma, and Resident Evil.
The Steam page currently shows a pre-purchase listing and a “First Bite” demo. It also lists a Glorious Idiot Edition containing the base game and the TickTock Teddies: Nonsense Overload Pack DLC. Those edition choices do not change the published PC hardware requirements.

If the First Bite demo is available in your region, it can reveal whether your particular combination of driver, cooling, laptop power mode, and background software behaves acceptably. Install it on the same drive and use the same display you expect to use for the full game. Record resolution, preset, frame-rate cap, and whether stutter or crashes occur so your observations remain reproducible.

A demo result is still not an official benchmark for the complete release. Different areas can have different workloads, and the published requirements do not state the demo’s test conditions or how closely its content matches the final game. Treat it as a compatibility check for your machine, not as a universal FPS guarantee.
What is known—and what is not—about performance
Director Eiichiro Sasaki told GamesRadar+, “Let’s say 15, 20 minutes of each dungeon dive, you feel something, you feel the progression.” That comment describes intended gameplay pacing, not hardware performance. No named source in the available release material provides average FPS, frame-time, resolution, graphics preset, ray-tracing mode, or hardware-utilization data.
Consequently, the most accurate buyer language is “meets the published minimum” or “meets the published recommended target.” Statements such as “this configuration will deliver 60fps” require testing under a specified resolution and preset and should not be presented as established fact.
A practical buying decision
| Your situation | Most defensible decision |
|---|---|
| Every minimum item passes, but one or more recommended items do not | You satisfy the published baseline. Try the demo when available and avoid assuming a fixed FPS. |
| Every recommended item passes | Your PC matches the higher published target, with more headroom than a minimum-only system; performance settings are still unspecified. |
| GPU is below minimum but CPU and RAM pass | Prioritize a graphics upgrade, using the named RTX 3060 8GB or RX 6600 8GB as the recommended reference. |
| Several categories are below minimum | A new Windows 11 gaming PC with an RTX 3060-class 8GB GPU and 16GB RAM may be more practical than piecemeal upgrades, subject to the system’s complete specifications. |
Before spending money, write down the exact CPU, GPU, VRAM, RAM, Windows version, DirectX version, and free space from the checks above. That inventory prevents a common mistake: upgrading one visible part while another component still misses the published floor.
Bottom line
A Windows 11 PC with 16GB RAM, DirectX 12, 22GB free storage, and at least an i5-8500/Ryzen 5 3500 plus an 8GB GTX 1070, RTX 3050, or RX 580 meets the stated minimum for Stupid Never Dies. The stronger i5-11600K/Ryzen 5 5600X and RTX 3060/RX 6600 combination meets the recommended target. Because no official FPS, resolution, preset, or benchmark has been published, use those labels as compatibility guidance—not as a promise of a particular gaming experience.
