Studio Sasanqua, the Japanese studio led by Visions of Mana director Kenji Ozawa, is entering indie-game publishing with AFANTASIA as its first announced title. Developed by Brazilian independent creator noidnoidnoid, the game is a narrative exploration adventure set in a small town called Tempo. Its release date and price have not been announced.
What is AFANTASIA?
AFANTASIA follows a boy who wakes in Tempo with lost memories and the belief that he must go to the city. A mysterious voice called Intrusion guides him as he encounters the memories and regrets of the town’s residents. Studio Sasanqua says the story explores identity, memory, regret, and imagination, and follows the boy toward an understanding of who he was and who he may become.
Studio Sasanqua describes it as a narrative exploration adventure. GameBiz characterizes the format as point-and-click, while AUTOMATON WEST reports that players interact with the environment and solve puzzles. These are descriptions of the announced experience, not a claim that the game is already publicly playable.
Who is making and publishing AFANTASIA?
Brazilian independent creator noidnoidnoid is developing the game; Studio Sasanqua is publishing it. The announcement makes AFANTASIA the studio’s first disclosed publishing title, not a released game. In its explanation of the move into publishing, Kenji Ozawa said the company wants to take responsibility for how enjoyable games are and how they are conveyed, rather than blindly follow current trends. Studio Sasanqua’s announcement does not confirm other platforms, controller support, or a public downloadable demo. The Steam platform listing is the relevant online route to follow, but its existence does not establish that the game is available to download or purchase.
When does AFANTASIA come out?
No release date or price has been announced. The publisher instead announced playable appearances at two events in October 2026. As of October 3, 2026, both dates were still upcoming:
