The most reliable way to smooth Street Fighter 6 on PC is to confirm that your hardware is within Capcom’s published range, update Windows and the graphics driver, select the dedicated GPU on a laptop, close competing applications, and then lower Quality from Multi Menu > Options > Graphics. Capcom specifically recommends Low or Lowest when frame rate is unstable. Restart the game when requested, then test the mode you actually play.
There is no authoritative setting combination that guarantees 60 FPS on every computer. The Steam specification page warns that frame rate can drop in graphic-intensive scenes, so judge success by consistent frame pacing in Fighting Ground, Battle Hub and World Tour rather than by a single menu or training-room result.
Check whether your PC meets the Street Fighter 6 requirements
Use the official Steam listing as a compatibility screen, not as a promise of a fixed frame rate. The figures below come from Capcom and Valve’s 2023 listing and describe the Windows PC version.

Meeting the minimum line means the game is within the listed compatibility target; it does not mean every scene will hold a fixed refresh rate. Capcom’s listing explicitly cautions that “the framerate may drop during graphic-intensive scenes.” A system between the minimum and recommended tiers may need the Low or Lowest quality preset, especially in the more complex modes.

Prepare Windows and the PC before changing game settings
Software and power problems can look like a graphics-setting problem. Complete these checks before repeatedly changing options.
Update Windows and the graphics driver
Install pending Windows updates and the current driver for your GPU. Reboot after installation if either updater requests it. A driver update can correct a rendering or stability fault without reducing image quality, while an out-of-date operating system can cause compatibility issues that a preset change will not fix.
Make sure the game uses the high-performance GPU
On a laptop with integrated and discrete graphics, assign Street Fighter 6 to the discrete high-performance processor in the GPU or Windows graphics settings. Capcom notes that some integrated graphics chips may run the game, but they are not tested or officially supported. If the game is accidentally using the integrated adapter, low frame rate and severe hitching are expected even when the discrete GPU is powerful enough.

Use full power while diagnosing
Connect the laptop to its charger and select a high-performance Windows power plan. In NVIDIA’s control panel, set Power Management Mode to Prefer Maximum Performance; use the equivalent high-performance processor setting with another GPU vendor. Battery-saving modes can reduce clock speeds and make frame pacing inconsistent.
Remove external contention
Close recording and streaming software, browsers with heavy tabs, hardware-monitoring tools you do not need, and other demanding applications. Capcom warns that background programs can consume CPU time, GPU capacity, memory or storage bandwidth. Temporarily disabling them gives you a clean baseline and helps identify whether the game itself is the bottleneck.
Use Capcom’s recommended settings change first
When the frame rate is unstable, Capcom’s documented remedy is to lower the in-game Quality settings. Follow this path exactly:

- Launch Street Fighter 6 and enter the Multi Menu.
- Open Options.
- Select the Graphics tab.
- Find the settings under Quality.
- Change the quality level to Low or, if instability continues, Lowest.
- Accept the change and restart the game if it asks you to do so.
Most graphics changes require a restart, according to Capcom. Test after the restart rather than judging the result from the menu preview. If Low solves the problem, you can raise quality cautiously and retest; if Lowest is still unstable, continue with the system and file checks below instead of assuming another visual option will cure a damaged installation or an incorrect GPU selection.

The Quality preset is the official, repeatable starting point because it changes the game’s overall rendering workload at once. The available evidence does not establish a universal ranking for every individual shadow, texture, lighting or effect option, nor does it provide a current patch-specific FPS table. Treat any per-option combination found in community posts as an experiment, not as an official 60-FPS guarantee.
Test each Street Fighter 6 mode separately
A setting that feels smooth in one part of the game can struggle elsewhere because scene complexity changes. Use the same repeatable route in each mode you play and watch for hitching, uneven motion and delayed response, not only the average number shown by an overlay.

This is a practical test method, not a published benchmark result. Capcom and Valve’s specification page only warns generally about graphic-intensive scenes; it does not promise that a particular processor or graphics card will maintain 60 FPS in every mode.

The game is using the wrong adapter
On a dual-GPU laptop, confirm the active adapter while the game is running. Select the discrete GPU, reconnect the charger and retest. Integrated graphics support is not officially assured, so lowering quality may not overcome that limitation.
Another application is consuming resources
Exit capture, recording, browser and other heavy processes, then launch the game again. If the stutter disappears, re-enable programs one at a time to find the conflict. Keep recording software closed while establishing a stable baseline.

Files may be damaged or incomplete
Use Steam’s file-repair function when crashes, missing assets or unexplained corruption accompany the performance problem:
- Open the Steam Library and right-click Street Fighter 6.
- Select Properties, then Installed Files.
- Choose Verify integrity of game files.
- Wait for Steam to compare the installed files with its server manifest and reacquire files whose checksums differ.
- Restart Steam or the game if prompted, then repeat the same mode test.
Verification repairs installation data; it does not replace the need for a suitable GPU, correct power mode or an appropriate Quality setting.
How to work toward a stable 60-FPS experience
“Best settings for 60 FPS” should mean the lowest visual compromise that remains consistently smooth on your particular system. Start at the official Low preset, test the mode that matters most, and only then increase quality. If a change brings back hitching, return to the last stable level. Do not treat 60 FPS as guaranteed merely because the computer meets the recommended specification; the official listing includes the graphic-intensive-scene warning.

Record which mode, scene and Quality level produced the problem so you can reproduce it after a driver update or hardware change.
Optional benchmark and measurement
Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 benchmark has been referenced as a PC suitability test at streetfighter.com/6/benchmark/en/. Check that page’s current availability before relying on it. A benchmark can help compare two settings on the same computer, but it cannot replace a real test in your preferred Fighting Ground, Battle Hub or World Tour scenes.
What not to assume about PC tuning
- No particular preset guarantees an online advantage or a locked 60 FPS on every system.
- The minimum specification is not a promise of identical performance in every scene.
- Integrated graphics may work on some machines, but Capcom does not officially support or test every integrated chip.
- A community
config.inifile is not an official performance preset. Capcom identifies that file as a diagnostic attachment location, while its published remedy for unstable frame rate is lowering in-game Quality. - Average FPS alone can hide uneven frame times. Judge the result during actual play, especially in the mode and scene where you noticed the problem.
A concise troubleshooting order
For a repeatable diagnosis, work from the least invasive change to the most targeted repair: confirm the hardware tier, update Windows and the GPU driver, select the dedicated GPU, connect power and choose a high-performance plan, close resource-heavy applications, lower Quality to Low or Lowest through the Multi Menu, restart when requested, test each mode, and verify Steam files if corruption symptoms remain. This order separates configuration, resource contention and installation faults instead of masking them with random visual changes.
