If YouTube says your StreamVoodoo broadcast is offline, first find where the signal stops: in the StreamVoodoo room, at its Magic Link, in your broadcast software, at the YouTube Live event, or only for viewers trying to watch. Check each handoff in order rather than assuming one setting is the cause. The available official guidance does not identify a single StreamVoodoo-specific cause or guaranteed fix for this symptom.
First, identify what “offline” means
This guide addresses a live broadcast that is not appearing as live on YouTube. YouTube also uses “offline” for videos downloaded in its mobile app for viewing without an internet connection in some areas; that is a different feature (YouTube Help: watch videos offline).
Pin down the exact screen and status before changing settings:
- StreamVoodoo room: Is the intended camera feed visible there?
- Magic Link or broadcast software: Does the feed open from the intended link, and can OBS or vMix see it?
- YouTube Live control room: Does YouTube report that it is receiving an incoming signal?
- Viewer playback: Can you see a live event in the control room, while viewers cannot play it?
These are different points in the delivery path. A missing camera feed is not the same problem as a YouTube event that is not receiving a signal, and neither is the same as playback trouble affecting a viewer.

Troubleshoot from the room to the viewer
1. Confirm the source appears in the StreamVoodoo room
Check that the intended participant or feed is present in the correct room. If it is missing, verify that the browser has permission to use the camera and microphone, and confirm the selected camera and audio devices. StreamVoodoo describes its browser-based rooms, device permissions and individual feed outputs in its FAQ. These checks help isolate the source end; they are not a confirmed cure for a YouTube offline status.
2. Verify the Magic Link and output
StreamVoodoo says each feed has a Magic Link that can be shared or used as a browser source in software such as OBS or vMix. Make sure the software is using the link for the feed you intend to broadcast, not another participant’s output. If the room feed is visible but the software shows no picture, focus on the link and browser-source handoff before changing YouTube settings.

3. Check the broadcast software and YouTube event
Confirm that the broadcast software is actually sending an output and is connected to the YouTube Live event you expect. Check that the selected destination and stream key or connection belong to that event. The StreamVoodoo FAQ explains rooms and Magic Links but does not provide a StreamVoodoo-specific guide to YouTube ingest keys or diagnose key mismatches, so treat these as ordinary workflow checks, not an established diagnosis.
If YouTube’s Live control room reports no incoming signal, investigate the outgoing feed and the software-to-event handoff. If it recognizes an incoming signal, but the event still does not appear live as expected, record the exact status displayed in YouTube Studio and check the event’s state rather than assuming the StreamVoodoo room is at fault.

4. Distinguish a live-ingest problem from viewer playback
If you can see a healthy live event but a viewer cannot play it, troubleshoot that viewer’s connection or device. YouTube recommends checking the internet connection and data use, restarting the connection or app or device, updating the app or browser, and testing without browser extensions that might interfere (YouTube Help: troubleshoot video streaming issues).
YouTube lists approximate sustained speeds for watching video: 20 Mbps for 4K, 5 Mbps for 1080p, 2.5 Mbps for 720p, 1.1 Mbps for 480p and 0.7 Mbps for 360p. These are playback figures, not live-stream upload requirements or encoder settings.

Check StreamVoodoo’s feed settings in context
StreamVoodoo’s FAQ says the room default is 720p and suggests 3 or 4 Mbps as standard, or 6 Mbps or higher when broadcasting. Those are its published recommendations for its feed and setup; they should not be treated as universal YouTube ingest requirements. The FAQ also says Ethernet is required for its highest video qualities. A wired connection is a reasonable stability check when available, but StreamVoodoo does not claim that using Ethernet will make YouTube show a broadcast as live.
Change one relevant setting at a time and observe which handoff changes. For example, if the room feed itself is missing, a YouTube playback speed figure will not resolve that source problem. If YouTube shows no incoming signal, viewer-side playback steps are unlikely to identify where the broadcast output stopped.

What to collect before asking for help
Record the exact YouTube Studio message and where it appears, then note:
- Whether the intended feed is visible in the StreamVoodoo room.
- Whether the Magic Link opens and the feed appears in OBS, vMix or other broadcast software.
- Which YouTube Live event and connection the software is using, and whether YouTube recognizes an incoming signal.
- Whether the issue affects every viewer or only one device or viewer.
- The browser, broadcast software and relevant camera and audio devices involved.
This information helps separate a source, output, event-handoff or playback problem. The official StreamVoodoo and YouTube pages cited here do not establish one cause or guaranteed fix for the exact symptom.
