The main trade-off is continuity. This is a follow-up to Horizon Zero Dawn, not a new standalone beginning. The setting and Aloy’s investigation can still attract a new player, but the story follows an established character and world. If the mystery and exploration are the priority, it is a strong choice; if you want to begin with a story designed to stand alone, Ghost of Yōtei is the cleaner fit.

It is the second installment in a three-game remake project. What if I want a darker story?

Is The Last of Us Part II Remastered the right kind of intense?
The Last of Us Part II Remastered is for players who want a demanding character drama centered on Ellie and Abby, not a lighter palate cleanser. PlayStation identifies Pro enhancement on its listing. If you want another story with a different emotional register, Ghost of Yōtei or God of War Ragnarök may be a better tonal fit. There is a specific developer statement about its PS5 Pro mode, but it should be understood as a target rather than a universal result.
