Storebound is a co-op puzzle horror game set in an accursed megastore. It supports one to three players, has a six-episode campaign estimated at five to seven hours, and combines exploration and puzzles with horror. Steam lists its full release date as July 16, 2026; a September 10, 2026 announcement scheduled PlayStation and Xbox launches for October 1 and said cross-play would connect PC and consoles.
What is Storebound?
Developed and published by Embers, Storebound turns an ordinary shopping setting into a horror environment. Players search the megastore for items and clues, solve puzzles, and communicate to make progress. The game includes proximity voice chat, so conversations are tied to in-game distance, as well as walkie-talkies for coordinating when players split up. Steam’s Storebound listing describes a six-episode campaign and estimates a five-to-seven-hour descent.
How many people can play Storebound?
Steam lists both single-player and one-to-three-player play. That makes it playable alone or with a group of up to three; it is not listed as a four-player game. For co-op, the game’s communication tools matter: proximity voice chat supports nearby discussion, while walkie-talkies help players coordinate after separating.
Is Storebound on PlayStation or Xbox, and does it support cross-play?
Steam lists July 16, 2026 as the full release date and November 17, 2025 as the Early Access release date. In a Steam Community announcement dated September 10, Embers said PlayStation and Xbox launches were scheduled for October 1, 2026, and announced cross-play between PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Because that information comes from an announcement rather than a live compatibility check, confirm current platform availability and cross-play status on the relevant storefronts before planning a mixed-platform session. Steam publishes the following Windows requirements. The recommended specification is higher than the minimum, particularly for memory and graphics hardware.

Is Storebound scary, and are there content warnings?
Yes. It is explicitly a puzzle horror game, and Steam’s listing warns of intense flashing lights and sequences. The developer’s content description also mentions violence, torture, and gore. Those warnings are worth considering if you are sensitive to flashing imagery or prefer to avoid graphic horror content.

The verified digital purchase route in the available official information is Steam. The Steam listing also names digital soundtrack and digital artbook add-ons. Since the game includes online co-op and proximity voice chat, a headset with a microphone may be useful for communicating, but the listing does not require one or recommend a particular model.
