The distinction is less about genres than about the way each platform gives you access to games. A cozy game, roguelike, metroidvania, or pixel-art game is not automatically a better fit for one device. The particular title must be available on that platform, and on Steam Deck it should also be checked for compatibility and control behavior. That integrated design is especially relevant if you expect to move between solo handheld sessions, playing with others around a table, and using a TV. Switch 2 weighs approximately 1.18 lb with Joy-Con 2 controllers attached, according to Nintendo. Steam Deck can also be docked, but its social-play setup is more dependent on accessories.
