The dark-web intelligence startup said it would use the funding to expand geographically and develop more business-to-business applications for its investigation and threat-monitoring platform. This is a historical 2024 funding announcement, not a new round.
What StealthMole does
Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Singapore, StealthMole describes itself as an AI-enabled dark-web intelligence and digital-investigation company. TechCrunch reported that it also had an R&D office in South Korea.
The company says its platform gathers information from dark-web, deep-web, and other hidden sources to support threat monitoring, risk assessment, criminal tracing, and early intervention or rapid response. SecurityWeek described investigation features that can help users trace relationships among data, visualize cases, find compromised credentials, and identify organizations whose information appears in dark- or deep-web leaks. These are reported capabilities, not independently tested performance claims.
Who invested and how much
StealthMole’s company-issued April 2, 2024 announcement said it had raised US$7 million in a Series A. Korea Investment Partners led the round, with Hibiscus Fund and Smilegate Investment participating. TechCrunch had reported the financing on March 27, 2024.

At the time of the announcement, StealthMole said the capital would support global expansion and additional technology use cases. TechCrunch reported plans for more R&D centers, geographic growth, and more business-to-business applications. The company characterized its established market as business-to-government and said it was adapting its technology for corporate needs. The sources reviewed do not establish which of those plans were subsequently completed.
Why StealthMole emphasizes regional context
StealthMole’s positioning centers on interpreting threats in East and Southeast Asia. The company said it saw a shortage of Asia-specific data points and information networks; that is its market assessment, not an independently measured finding. TechCrunch quoted CTO Simon Choi: “Having an R&D office in South Korea allows us to gain critical insights into how hackers from East Asia operate.” COO Kevin Yoo told TechCrunch: “The high demand for Asia-oriented threat information underscores the uniqueness and value of our dataset for customers worldwide, within and beyond Asia.”
In its funding release, founder and CEO Louis Hur said: “To better understand digital threats, it’s crucial for law enforcement, intelligence agencies, corporate security teams, and cybersecurity experts to analyse regional contexts and their impact on illicit activities.” The statements explain the company’s rationale for regional expertise; they do not establish comparative product performance.
What the reported figures do—and do not—show
TechCrunch reported that StealthMole had more than 50 clients across 17 countries in 2024, a historical reported figure rather than a current or audited customer count. The company release said its platform had analyzed 255 billion data points. A separate StealthMole presentation hosted by CyberSG in 2024 gave a figure of 270 billion data points collected since 2016. These are different company-published figures with different descriptions; neither should be treated as a verified current total.

The April release also relayed a forecast that the cost of defending against cyber threats could exceed US$23 trillion by 2027. The source does not provide enough underlying methodology to assess the forecast’s scope, so it is best understood as a figure cited by the company, not an independently checked estimate.
