Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteStart with the original Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, then follow the games’ original release order. Ubisoft dates the franchise to 2002, and Steam identifies Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow as the second game. The available official listings confirm a few release and platform details, but they do not establish a complete chronology or a reliable modern-console compatibility list for every entry.
What order should you play the Splinter Cell games in?
For a first playthrough, use original release order, beginning with the 2002 original. Ubisoft describes the series as existing “Since 2002,” and Steam calls Pandora Tomorrow the second game in the series. Ubisoft Store dates that sequel to March 26, 2004.
Those sources verify the starting point and one sequel, not every intervening game or spin-off. This guide therefore does not present an unverified full numbered chronology. A complete list would need release dates checked title by title, including platform-specific editions and handheld or mobile spin-offs.

| Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow | Steam identifies it as the second game. Ubisoft Store lists March 26, 2004 as its release date. Steam Ubisoft publisher page · Ubisoft Store listing |
| Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist | Ubisoft lists August 20, 2013 as its release date and PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U as original platforms. That does not establish current store access or compatibility on newer consoles. Ubisoft Blacklist page |
Which game should a newcomer choose?
Choose the original if you want to begin at the series’ documented starting point. If you are sampling only an early sequel, Pandora Tomorrow is the officially identified second game. Ubisoft describes the franchise as a stealth-shooter series centered on Sam Fisher, who leads 4th Echelon; its franchise description provides context, not a requirement to play every game in sequence.

Which Splinter Cell games are available on modern platforms?
Availability depends on the exact game, platform, edition, region, and whether you mean a current digital purchase, a previously acquired download, or a physical copy. A listing on one storefront is not proof that every edition is sold or playable everywhere. Likewise, an original-platform release does not prove backward compatibility on a newer console.

How to check your specific device
- Identify the exact game and edition you want; older entries may have different releases for different platforms.
- Search the live storefront for your region on the specific PC storefront or console generation you intend to use.
- Check the listing for the supported device and edition, and distinguish a new digital purchase from access to a copy you already own or a physical disc.
- For a console, verify the title in the platform maker’s current backward-compatibility information before buying an older disc or expecting an old download to run.
Is Splinter Cell: Blacklist co-op still playable online?
No. Ubisoft says: “Online features for this game are no longer supported. Multiplayer and co-op modes are no longer functional.” Treat Blacklist as a single-player option rather than a current online co-op game. Ubisoft’s Blacklist page

What to know before buying an older entry
- Check the device, not just the franchise name. “Available on Xbox” or “available on PlayStation” is too broad unless the listing names the generation and edition you can use.
- Separate original release platforms from present-day access. Blacklist’s PC, Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U release history does not guarantee it can be purchased or played on a newer console.
- Confirm the regional listing. Store visibility can vary by region, and a product page alone does not establish universal availability.
- For physical copies, confirm compatible hardware. Ubisoft confirms that Blacklist originally released on PS3, making a used PS3 copy a possible route for someone with compatible PS3 hardware; it is not evidence of PS5 support.
