Sony has been revealing the cast of Until Dawn 2 in a sequence of PlayStation social posts ahead of the game’s January 28, 2027 launch on PS5. The new standalone horror story follows Dead True, a paranormal-content crew whose staged scares turn into genuine supernatural danger at an abandoned resort on Akishima Island. Peter Stormare returns as Dr. Hill, while the rest of the currently confirmed cast plays a new group of characters.
Who is in Until Dawn 2?
Sony’s official roster currently names 12 performers. Peter Stormare is the only returning character actor identified by Sony; the other confirmed roles belong to Dead True’s crew and people connected to its island investigation.

What is the story of Until Dawn 2?
Dead True begins as a channel that manufactures paranormal scares for viewers. A television deal funds a shoot at the abandoned Akishima Island resort, but the production quickly encounters real supernatural threats. The setup is a new world rather than a continuation of the original game’s mountain setting, while Dr. Hill provides the only confirmed character link so far.

Firesprite is making the game with AdHoc Studio, the team behind Dispatch. Sony describes it as a standalone experience with a new cast and setting, so familiarity with the first Until Dawn is not presented as a requirement.
How do choices and survival work?
The Butterfly Effect choice system returns. Decisions in conversations, relationships and smaller character moments can open different branches, determine who becomes a victim and alter the ending.

Creative Director Stu Tilley describes the goal as a modern horror experience built around intrigue, emotion, twists and choices that keep changing the outcome. Can you preorder Until Dawn 2?
Yes. Firesprite says physical and digital editions became available to preorder on September 10, 2026. Sony lists the US Standard Edition at $49.99, with physical, digital and Digital Deluxe formats documented. Prices and availability can differ by territory and storefront, so the $49.99 figure applies specifically to the US Standard Edition and was checked in October 2026.

The reveal has two layers. PlayStation’s social campaign introduced six crew members with short descriptions, while the broader official roster adds Luke, Sebastian, Anna, Yoona and Reagan and confirms Stormare’s return as Dr. Hill. Until Sony publishes another complete cast list, those are the names and roles that can be treated as confirmed, with the possibility that further announcements will follow.
