Sony debuted the ZV-E10 II on July 10, 2024, as the second generation of its ZV-E10 APS-C interchangeable-lens camera for content creators. The updated model combines a 26.0-effective-megapixel sensor, Sony’s BIONZ XR processor, creator-focused controls and video recording options reaching 4K/60p in specified modes.
What the ZV-E10 II is
The ZV-E10 II is an E-mount mirrorless camera built around an APS-C (23.3 × 15.5 mm) Exmor R CMOS sensor. Sony lists approximately 27.0 megapixels total and approximately 26.0 megapixels maximum effective resolution for still images.
Sony’s launch announcement describes it as the second generation of the ZV-E10 and says it retains features including Creative Looks, Product Showcase Setting, Background Defocus and a vari-angle screen while adding hardware and workflow updates. “Top-selling” is Sony’s description of the earlier ZV-E10, not an independently verified market ranking.

Creator features carried into the second generation
Vari-angle operation
The vari-angle screen can face forward for self-recording and fold into positions useful for low- or high-angle framing. It also supports the camera’s creator-oriented operating approach without requiring an external monitor for basic composition.
Product Showcase Setting
Product Showcase Setting is intended for demonstrations in which an item is held close to the camera. Sony lists it among the retained ZV-series features; the setting is not a substitute for testing focus behavior with every lens and subject.

Background Defocus and Creative Looks
Background Defocus provides a simplified way to emphasize a shallow-looking background effect, while Creative Looks provide in-camera image-style options. The visible result still depends on lens choice, aperture, subject distance and lighting.
Video modes: read the limits with the headline numbers
“4K/60p,” “HD/120p” and “10-bit 4:2:2” describe supported combinations rather than a guarantee that every frame rate, codec and crop uses all three capabilities at once. Sony’s UK specification page separately describes 5.6K oversampling to 4K at up to 60p. Check the recording-format menu and regional specification page for the exact mode you plan to use.

A creator choosing an all-intra or high-bitrate format should also verify Sony’s mode-specific memory-card requirements. A user discussion asking why a V90 card was requested for 25p XAVC S-I 4K at 250 Mbps is an individual report, not official universal card guidance.
Body-only and kit configurations
Sony’s US product listing offers the camera body and a body-plus-16–50 mm zoom configuration. The kit lens can make the camera immediately usable for general walk-and-talk, desk and travel shooting, while the body-only option makes more sense when you already own compatible E-mount lenses or have a specific lens plan.

When the Sony US product page was checked on September 27, 2026, it displayed the body at $999.99 alongside a struck-through $1,199.99. That is a dated observation from Sony’s live retail page, not a permanent manufacturer price, an Amazon price or a global launch MSRP. Prices, promotions, stock and kit availability vary by country and over time, so check the current regional Sony listing before ordering.

Who should consider it
- New creator-camera buyers: You get an APS-C interchangeable-lens platform, a forward-facing vari-angle screen and Sony’s creator-specific controls in one body.
- Owners of the original ZV-E10: Compare the recording modes, card requirements, battery expectations, autofocus behavior and total upgrade cost you actually need. The available information does not support declaring the second generation universally worth upgrading to.
- Hybrid shooters: The approximately 26.0-effective-megapixel still specification and interchangeable lenses support still photography, but the camera’s launch positioning emphasizes creator video workflows.
- Buyers comparing other cameras: Evaluate codec and crop limits, lens-system cost, audio workflow, stabilization, battery endurance and the price of the complete system rather than comparing resolution alone.
What the launch information does not establish
The launch announcement and Sony specification pages do not provide independent head-to-head testing, a verified predecessor benchmark, a complete memory-card compatibility table or a current multi-retailer price survey. Treat those questions as items to verify for your exact recording mode, region and budget rather than as settled conclusions from the launch specifications.
The Bottom Line
The Sony ZV-E10 II is an established July 2024 second-generation APS-C E-mount creator camera, defined by its 26.0-effective-megapixel sensor, BIONZ XR processor, vari-angle design and specified 4K/60p, HD/120p and 10-bit 4:2:2 recording options. Choose body or kit after checking your lens needs, recording modes, card requirements and current regional price.
