Sony’s PULSE Elevate are wireless desktop gaming speakers designed for PS5, PC and Mac. Sony has announced a November 12, 2026 launch, with regional recommended prices starting at $219.99 USD; as of October 4, 2026, that release date is still in the future. The speakers use PlayStation Link and Bluetooth, and can play audio from both connections at once.
What are Sony PULSE Elevate speakers?
PULSE Elevate is a pair of wireless speakers Sony Interactive Entertainment developed for desktop gaming. Sony positions them for PS5, PC and Mac setups, with portable use also possible alongside PlayStation Portal or compatible Bluetooth devices. They are speakers rather than a headset, so they are intended for listening without wearing headphones.
Each speaker has a planar magnetic driver and a built-in woofer. The right speaker has a built-in microphone. The speakers can be oriented to suit a desktop setup, and Sony describes onboard volume and mute controls. Sony lists EQ, volume and microphone controls through system menus; it corrected its original announcement to clarify that sidetone is not an adjustable setting. Sony’s updated announcement and its official product page provide the current feature details.
How PlayStation Link and Bluetooth work
PlayStation Link is Sony’s low-latency wireless connection for supported devices. Sony lists PS5, PC, Mac and PlayStation Portal compatibility. An included PlayStation Link USB adapter works with USB-C ports. Bluetooth adds connections to compatible phones, TVs and streaming devices.

A key feature is simultaneous audio: a PlayStation Link-connected device can provide game audio while a separate Bluetooth device supplies music or a call. For example, a player could hear PS5 audio and phone audio at the same time. The two wireless connections serve different purposes; Bluetooth is not a replacement for PlayStation Link where the latter is the supported gaming connection.
What to expect on PS5, PC and Mac
PS5
Sony says Tempest 3D AudioTech is available for supported PS5 games. That qualification matters: Sony does not promise the feature for every game, and it should not be assumed to apply to PC or Mac. PS5 system menus can be used for supported settings such as EQ and microphone options.

PC and Mac
Sony names both PC and Mac as desktop platforms and supports PlayStation Link connections on them. Sony says PC settings options will be available after launch, so the precise PC configuration experience should not be assumed to be available before the speakers ship.
Portal and Bluetooth devices
The rechargeable speakers and included charging docks are designed to let users move them away from a desktop. Sony also lists PlayStation Portal support and Bluetooth connectivity for compatible devices. Sony’s official product information does not state a battery runtime. In a June 2026 pre-release preview, TechRadar reported Sony product-development vice president Edwin Foo saying the speakers could operate for 12 hours away from the dock; that is a reported manufacturer statement, not a verified endurance test. TechRadar’s preview also describes a demonstration, not a full retail review or controlled sound comparison.

What early listening reports do—and do not—show
TechRadar’s Harry Padoan tried the speakers in a pre-release demonstration, including game audio, music and the built-in microphone. He reported a positive initial impression but said more time would be needed to assess performance, particularly for music. That is an early hands-on impression, not evidence of long-term quality or superiority to another speaker or headset.
Foo told TechRadar: “When I said that we hope people view these speakers as a way to enjoy sound from headphones without wearing headphones, we meant it.” The comment explains Sony’s desktop-listening intent; it is not a performance measurement. Sony has not published a quantified market-size figure in the cited materials to support a broader claim about how many players have moved to monitor-based gaming.

Who should consider PULSE Elevate?
The announced feature set is most relevant to someone who wants a wireless speaker pair for a PS5, PC or Mac desktop and values PlayStation Link, a built-in microphone, portable use or simultaneous Bluetooth audio. Before buying, check the factors that are specific to your setup:
Quick Recap
- Confirm that your intended device supports the connection you plan to use, and whether you need the included USB-C-compatible PlayStation Link adapter.
- Check your local retailer for the price, color and availability in your market.
- If battery life is important, distinguish the 12-hour figure reported by TechRadar from an independently tested runtime; Sony’s official product information does not specify battery duration.
- If you need to judge sound quality against other speakers, wait for fuller independent reviews rather than treating a pre-release demonstration as a comparison.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
