Skullcandy’s 2023 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 40th-anniversary collection paired two existing products with limited-edition TMNT designs: Push Active true wireless earbuds and the PLYR multi-platform wireless gaming headset. The company announced the U.S. release on October 24, 2023, with launch MSRPs of $99.99 for the earbuds and $149.99 for the headset. Those are historical launch prices, not confirmed current prices.
Which Skullcandy TMNT products were released?
The collection adapted Skullcandy’s Push Active earbuds for portable listening and its PLYR headset for gaming. Skullcandy described the drop as limited edition and said it was available at Skullcandy.com when announced. The release does not establish whether either TMNT edition is currently in stock.

These features and battery figures are manufacturer claims from the October 24, 2023 U.S. launch announcement, not independent test results. The release does not provide comparative testing or current pricing. Skullcandy’s announcement via PR Newswire gives the product details and original MSRPs; the company’s press-release archive lists the announcement.
How do the earbuds and headset differ?
The practical choice is mainly about how you plan to listen. Push Active is the smaller, earbud-style option, with hooks intended to help keep the buds in place. PLYR is an over-ear gaming headset; its boom microphone and included 2.4GHz transmitter are the features aimed at game chat and lower-latency wireless use, according to Skullcandy.

The launch release identifies Bluetooth 5.2 on both products. It does not give enough detail to compare supported platforms, audio performance, comfort, or real-world battery life.
What makes the TMNT designs distinctive?
Skullcandy said the collection drew on the green mutagen ooze associated with the turtles, using transparent and glow-in-the-dark details. The Push Active design was described as “TCRI Mutagen Ooze.” PLYR’s announced styling included turtle-shell earcups, a manhole-cover detail inside the ear cushion, a radioactive-themed headband, and a pizza-themed boom microphone.

The release also described interchangeable ear-gel and suspension-headband colorways linked to the four turtles: red for Raphael, purple for Donatello, orange for Michelangelo, and blue for Leonardo. Skullcandy Japan’s November 2023 announcement likewise described the limited-quantity products and ooze-inspired glow-in-the-dark design; its dates apply to Japan, not the U.S.
When did the collection launch, and what did it cost?
The U.S. announcement was dated October 24, 2023, and listed original MSRPs of $99.99 for Push Active and $149.99 for PLYR. It said the collection was available then at Skullcandy.com. No current price, stock status, or verified exact-edition Amazon listing is established here, so check a seller’s listing carefully for the TMNT edition rather than assuming a standard Push Active or PLYR product is the collaboration version.

For Japan, Skullcandy scheduled preorders to open November 24, 2023, with sales beginning November 28, 2023. Those are Japan-specific dates and should not be read as the U.S. release schedule.

Justin Regan, Skullcandy’s VP of Marketing, said: “With nods to skate culture, gaming and killer soundtracks, the TMNT franchise shares a lot of core elements with the Skullcandy brand.” The announcement framed the designs as a tribute to fans and the franchise’s anniversary.

The same release called Skullcandy the “#1 selling brand in true wireless earbuds under $100,” citing Circana’s U.S. Weekly Retail Tracking Service for the stereo headphones subcategory, no-wire/no-band type, and average sales price under $100. The cited measurement period was November 1, 2021 through October 31, 2022; it is a historical statistic attributed by Skullcandy, not a current market ranking.
