Short answer: Wizards of the Coast said in January 2024 that most Secret Lair products would move to limited print runs, so a drop can sell out before its announced end date. The official statements reviewed do not promise universal restocks or publish print-run counts for every drop. Card legality depends on the individual card and the format, not simply on its Secret Lair branding.
Do Secret Lair drops get restocked?
There is no general restock promise in the official Wizards statements cited here. Wizards said some limited-run products may sell out before their announced end date, but that does not say whether a particular sold-out drop will return. Check the current official product page and announcements for that drop rather than assuming an older sale will reopen. Wizards’ January 2, 2024 shipping announcement explains the limited-run change.
Are Secret Lair drops print-to-demand?
Not as a general policy announced in 2024. Wizards said most drops would be pre-printed in limited quantities, while allowing that some products might remain print-to-demand for a defined ordering window. The specific product announcement is the best guide to how an individual drop is being sold; do not assume every drop follows the same model.
Wizards described the shift as a way to speed shipment and reduce waits. It also said it uses its sales history to estimate quantities and get close to demand. That is an estimate, not a guarantee that every interested buyer will be able to purchase a drop.

Does Wizards publish Secret Lair print-run numbers?
The cited policy announcement does not disclose a unit count for each drop. Wizards said it had four years of Secret Lair sales history to inform its estimates, but that statement is not a per-drop print-run figure. Unless a specific official product announcement gives a number, the print quantity for that drop is not established by these sources.
Why can a drop sell out before its sale ends?
Under the limited-run approach, the quantity available may be exhausted before the advertised end date. Wizards explicitly warned that some products may sell out early. An end date therefore should not be read as a guarantee that stock will last until then, and the policy does not mean every drop will sell out.

Where else can Secret Lair drops be bought?
Some releases have had additional sales channels, but availability is specific to the drop, edition, and announcement. For example, Wizards described a test offering limited quantities of certain non-foil drops with mechanically unique cards through participating WPN stores after the website release. It also announced Amazon availability for the non-foil edition of the named Secret Lair x Fallout: Beyond Vault 33 drop. These examples do not establish that other drops, foil editions, or regions will have the same options.
For a particular release, compare the named drop and edition with the channel actually announced, then check current availability. A store or retailer listing for one product is not evidence of a general distribution policy. See Wizards’ WPN test announcement and its announcement for the Fallout drop for those specific examples.

Are Secret Lair cards legal in Commander, Legacy, Pauper, or other formats?
Legality is determined by the card and the rules or decisions for the format. A Secret Lair reprint generally has the legality status of the card it reprints; new-to-Magic designs may have explicitly stated legality, and format-specific decisions can create exceptions. The Secret Lair label, alternate art, or rarity alone does not establish legality.
For example, Wizards said the new-to-Magic cards in its 2024 Marvel Superdrop were legal in Commander, Legacy, and Vintage, while other cards were legal in formats where they were already available. Separately, a 2026 Pauper announcement addressed twelve cards printed at common for the first time in The Zeta Set. These are distinct cases, not a blanket rule for every Secret Lair card. Check the current legality information for the exact card and intended format. Wizards’ Marvel Superdrop announcement and its Pauper announcement describe those cases.
