What Save Page WE’s file size limit means
Save Page WE saves a page as a single HTML file and provides a setting for the maximum size allowed for large or repeatedly referenced resources. Check image-saving options before changing the size setting
Choose an item set that includes the images you need
Save Page WE’s documented item sets handle HTML images differently. Basic Items include currently displayed HTML images; Standard Items add all HTML image files; Custom Items let you choose image categories. If images are absent from the saved page, inspect the selected set and try Standard Items or a Custom Items selection that includes the needed image types.
Load images that appear only after scrolling
Some sites add images as you scroll or otherwise interact with the page. Save Page WE documents an option to load lazy images in existing content, as well as Scroll Page and Shrink Page methods for loading lazy content. Enable the relevant lazy-image option and try the available loading method before saving. This can help when an image was not present in the page content at the time of capture; it is not a way to enlarge a resource-size limit.

Review resources that could not be saved
The extension offers an option to show a warning and list resources it could not save. Use that report to identify a missing or unavailable resource instead of assuming that the final HTML crossed an overall file-size cap. The listing does not specify how every failure is classified.
Consider merging duplicate CSS images
The extension can merge duplicate CSS images. That may reduce repeated CSS image content, but the listing does not claim it reduces every large page or HTML image. It is not a general fix for oversized photographs.

How to find Save Page WE Options
- Firefox: Open the extension’s toolbar menu, right-click the Save Page WE toolbar button, choose Manage Extension, open the three-dot menu, and select Options.
- Chrome: Right-click the Save Page WE toolbar button and select Options.
- On the Options page, inspect the maximum-size control for large or repeatedly referenced resources, the selected item set, lazy-image options, and the option to show warnings or lists of resources that could not be saved. Names and availability may differ in your installed version.
- Save the page again and check whether the previously missing images appear. If they do not, use the extension’s warning or resource list to narrow down what was not saved.
The official listings confirm that the resource-size control exists, but do not document its default, units, or exact behavior at the threshold. Avoid treating a value shown in one installation as a universal default.

Troubleshooting: Save Page WE file size limit and missing large images
- Only some images are present: Check whether Basic Items is selected. Try Standard Items, which adds all HTML image files, or select the needed categories under Custom Items.
- Images appear only after scrolling: Enable loading of lazy images in existing content, then try Scroll Page or Shrink Page if available.
- A warning lists a resource that could not be saved: Treat that as a resource-specific problem to investigate; the warning does not establish that the finished file exceeded an overall cap.
- You cannot find the maximum-size control: Open the extension’s Options page using the browser-specific path above. Check the installed version because exact names and menu steps may vary.
- The saved page is still missing a particular image: The official listings do not specify what happens to every oversized or unavailable resource. The warning/resource list may help distinguish an unsuccessful save from an item-set or lazy-loading issue, but the listing does not guarantee a particular recovery behavior.
