Samsung’s Galaxy Store listing for Sound Assistant is live and offers installation. That is evidence against a universal shutdown, not a guarantee that every user can download or use it. Availability can vary by device and region, and Samsung says some devices may not be supported.
The listing displays version 8.5.00.2, dated 2026-05-22, and its release notes include support for One UI 9.0 and above. Those listing details do not establish that every listed feature works on every Galaxy model or One UI release.
What does Sound Assistant do?
Sound Assistant is Samsung’s advanced audio utility for compatible Galaxy devices. Its Galaxy Store description includes controls beyond routing audio from one app to another:

Samsung’s listing associates some features with particular One UI generations, including One UI 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9. The exact feature set therefore depends on the phone and its software; the listing also warns that some devices may not be supported.
Why can’t I find Sound Assistant on my Galaxy phone?
Check the Galaxy Store listing on the phone you want to use, and confirm that phone’s model and One UI version. A live listing does not mean Samsung offers the app in every region or for every device, and Samsung has not provided a complete compatibility table in the cited sources.

If the listing is unavailable or the app does not appear to support your device, check whether the built-in Separate app sound setting meets your specific need. Samsung notes that advanced audio features can vary by model. Menu labels may also differ between One UI releases; search Settings for “Separate app sound” if the path below does not match your phone.

- Open Settings > Sounds and vibrations > Separate app sound.
- Turn on Separate app sound.
- Select the app whose media you want to route.
- Choose the output, such as Phone or a Bluetooth device, then return to the previous screen.
The selected output must differ from the phone’s main audio output. If you want to choose a Bluetooth device and it is not listed, connect it first; Samsung says Bluetooth choices may appear only while the device is connected.

Choose based on what you need to control. Samsung describes Sound Assistant as a broader audio utility, including per-app volume adjustment and other sound customizations. Separate app sound is a built-in setting for routing a selected app’s media to a different output. The official descriptions do not establish that these features are interchangeable for every use case.
