Samsung’s 17th annual U.S. Solve for Tomorrow competition is open, with applications due November 23, 2026. Eligible public-school educators submit an entry on behalf of students in grades 6–12; students develop a STEM project addressing a challenge in their community. Samsung says dates may change, so check its current program overview before planning around later milestones.
Who can enter Samsung Solve for Tomorrow?
The 2026–27 U.S. competition is for students in grades 6–12 at publicly funded schools. Samsung summarizes the school requirement as at least 50% public funding; its FAQ specifically says charter schools qualify if at least 50% of their operating funds come from public sources. An eligible applicant must be at least 21 and employed by the school. A student-created account cannot submit an eligible application. See Samsung’s FAQ and program overview for current eligibility details.
In practical terms, a school should first confirm its funding status and identify an adult employee who can submit the entry. Samsung’s current materials describe an educator submitting on the classroom’s behalf.
What is the deadline, and what happens after applying?
Samsung lists three stages for this season. These are the dates and phase descriptions on its current overview; the company says key dates are subject to change.
