Some Galaxy Z Fold7 owners have reported that Home Up’s three-finger volume-control gesture behaves unexpectedly after updating to One UI 9.0. A report dated October 3, 2026, says Samsung Community moderator guidance points first to a navigation-bar setting and asks users to check for volume-control routines. The report does not establish how widespread the problem is or confirm that One UI 9.0 caused it.
What Fold7 users are reporting
According to Sammy Fans’ October 3, 2026 report, some owners enabled the relevant gesture settings but found that a slow three-finger swipe changed the volume by only one level. A short swipe also reportedly toggled Auto Rotate unexpectedly.
This is an account of some users’ experience, not evidence of a device-wide defect. The report gives no count or share of affected owners, and it does not show that the One UI 9.0 update introduced the behavior.
Check the reported Home Up setting
The report attributes the following guidance to a Samsung Community moderator; the original Community response was not independently located. For the Home Up multi-finger gesture, check that the navigation bar is set to “Gestures in multiple directions.”

If the three-finger gesture still misbehaves
Try Samsung’s general touchscreen checks
Samsung’s general touchscreen troubleshooting guidance lists temporary system errors, screen protectors or other accessories, accessibility settings, moisture, and some settings or apps as possible factors affecting touch sensitivity or gesture recognition. It recommends restarting the device, checking settings and accessories, keeping software and apps current, and using Samsung Members diagnostics or contacting service support if the problem continues. These are broad checks, not a diagnosis of the Home Up volume gesture.

Send a report if you need Samsung to investigate
The Sammy Fans report says Samsung requested a screen recording and system logs through the Send Error option when the issue persists. Capture the gesture misbehavior if possible, then submit the recording and logs through that option. This step is attributed to the report’s account of moderator guidance.
