The launch follows a 2025 beta; Samsung renamed the app from Samsung Internet to Samsung Browser in its March 25, 2026 release notes. These are Samsung-described features, not independently tested performance claims.
What Samsung Browser brings to Windows
Samsung describes the Windows app as a way to carry browsing between Samsung devices and a PC. With continuity set up, bookmarks and browsing history can sync, and users can resume the same webpage on another device. Samsung Pass integration can store sign-in and personal information for autofill; available functions and compatible apps may vary by country. Samsung’s launch announcement outlines these capabilities.
Samsung says Galaxy AI is built with Perplexity and can work with the page currently open and context across tabs. Samsung’s examples include asking for an itinerary based on a viewed page, summarizing and comparing multiple tabs, searching browsing history in natural language rather than relying on keywords or dates, and finding a requested moment in a video. These are vendor-described functions; Samsung says accuracy is not guaranteed.
Which Galaxy AI features are available?
Samsung’s US product page lists Ask AI, Summarize, and Translate among Samsung Browser’s Galaxy AI features. Some functions require a network connection and Samsung Account. Summarization can have character limits and limited or no functionality on some paid websites, while translation availability varies by language. Ask AI availability on PC varies by country or region. Read Highlight Aloud is listed as Android-only, not a Windows feature. See Samsung’s product and FAQ page for its current qualifications.

Samsung also cautions that features differ by country, region, and language, query limits may apply, and results are not guaranteed to be accurate.
Windows requirements and cross-device setup
Samsung lists Windows 11 and Windows 10 version 1809 or later as supported. The Galaxy Book requirement applies to Samsung’s continuity feature, not ordinary use of the browser.

To use continuity, Samsung says users need the latest Samsung Account and either Samsung Continuity Service or Galaxy Connect installed on the PC. At launch, Samsung identified Galaxy Book3, Book4, Book5, and Book6 series as supported for this feature. Its August 2026 update says Galaxy Connect is included in the version 30.0.4 installer. More details appear in the launch announcement and the Galaxy Connect update.
Launch history and current Windows version
The Windows beta began on October 30, 2025. Samsung announced the official Windows launch on March 26, 2026, and the March 25 release notes record both the introduction of AI features in version 30.0.0.95 and the name change from Samsung Internet to Samsung Browser. The beta announcement described the program as an opportunity for users to shape the experience, rather than evidence of independently measured performance. Samsung’s beta announcement provides that context.

Samsung’s announcement establishes the browser’s stated Windows support, continuity options, and AI feature set, with availability and accuracy caveats. It does not establish how its speed, privacy, or AI output quality compares with other Windows browsers. Readers deciding whether it fits their setup should focus on whether their Windows version is supported, whether the relevant AI features are offered in their region and language, and whether they need Samsung’s account- and device-dependent continuity.
