Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S12+ starts at ₹1,29,999 in India for the Wi-Fi 12GB/256GB model; the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra starts at ₹1,49,999 for the same connectivity and memory configuration. Samsung says sales begin October 7, 2026. The main trade-off is straightforward: the S12+ costs less and weighs less, while the Ultra offers a larger 14.6-inch screen and a larger battery. Both include an S Pen and use a 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X display.

These are Samsung’s announced India launch prices, not a live retailer price check. The starting price of ₹1,29,999 applies to the Galaxy Tab S12+ Wi-Fi with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage—not the Ultra.

What is the difference between the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and S12+?

Choose the S12+ if portability and the lower entry price matter more
At 553g for Wi-Fi, the S12+ is 139g lighter than the Wi-Fi Ultra, while retaining a large 12.6-inch screen. It is the more practical fit if you expect to carry the tablet often or do not need the Ultra’s extra display area.
Choose the Ultra if screen area and battery capacity take priority
The Ultra’s 14.6-inch panel gives more room for split-screen work, drawing or viewing content, and its listed battery capacity is 1,000mAh higher. That comes with a higher announced base price and more weight, so consider whether you will use the larger workspace often enough to justify the trade-off.

Can either Galaxy Tab S12 replace a laptop?
“Laptop-sized ambition” describes Samsung’s productivity positioning, not proof that either tablet replaces a laptop for every person or workflow. Samsung says both tablets run Android 17 with One UI 9 and support Multi Window with up to three sections. It also promotes Galaxy AI and Note Assist features. Whether that is enough depends on the apps you rely on, your keyboard and pointing-device needs, and whether your work requires particular desktop software or file-handling routines.
Samsung says both tablets use a 3nm processor and reports 61% faster NPU processing, 19% faster CPU performance and 17% improved GPU performance compared with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. Those are Samsung’s published comparisons, not independent benchmark results. No independent testing is established here for sustained performance, heat or real-world battery life.
Samsung lists IP68 water and dust resistance for the series. Its published battery and performance descriptions are manufacturer claims; they should not be treated as independent durability or performance test results.

Does the Galaxy Tab S12 come with an S Pen or charger?
Samsung says the S Pen is included with both models. Its S12+ product page says the charger is not included. Check the box contents for the exact model and region before buying, especially if you need a compatible charging adapter. The Galaxy Tab S12+ India product page lists the S Pen as included and the charger as separate.
Which keyboard works with the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Ultra?
Samsung sells keyboard covers separately; a keyboard is not listed as an in-box accessory. Samsung’s India announcement lists the Pro Keyboard Cover at ₹26,499 for the S12+ and ₹27,999 for the Ultra. Its S12+ product page also names the Pro Keyboard, Book Cover, Book Cover Keyboard Slim and Anti-Reflecting Screen Protector as compatible optional accessories, and says the Frame Cover is exclusive to Ultra. Confirm the model fit on the specific accessory listing before ordering.

Other published specs include 45W charging, with Samsung saying a 45W adapter can charge from 0% to 100% in about 95 minutes. The adapter is separate according to the S12+ product page, and charging performance can vary with conditions. Samsung’s cited Ultra 5G 12GB/512GB product page states security updates through September 30, 2033; treat that as information for that specific SKU and confirm the support period for the model and region you plan to buy: Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra 5G 12/512GB specifications.
What else should buyers check before ordering?
- Connectivity: Choose Wi-Fi if you do not need cellular service away from networks; the 5G variants cost more than the corresponding Wi-Fi configurations.
- Storage: The 512GB versions carry a higher announced price than the 256GB versions. Decide whether your apps, downloads and work files need the additional capacity.
- Ownership offers: Samsung says buyers may opt for Samsung Care+ ProtectMax, with plan types that include accidental or liquid-damage cover, screen protection and extended warranty. Costs depend on the selected plan.
- Galaxy Forever: Samsung describes this as a two-year program through Samsung Finance+ at Samsung Exclusive Stores and Samsung.com, with a ₹12,499 program fee. Read the full terms and payment obligations rather than treating the fee as the device’s purchase price.
Both programs and the launch promotions are governed by Samsung’s applicable terms. The product listings and offers available to an individual buyer can depend on model, region, channel and timing.
