Compare current, unconditional prices for the same storage before deciding. On the published specifications, Pixel 11 offers a 5x telephoto camera and an explicit seven-year update commitment; Galaxy S26 lists a 3x telephoto and different display and charging specifications. Those differences matter more than an assumed winner based on a spec sheet.
Which Pixel is being compared—and what do the prices mean?
This comparison is between the standard Samsung Galaxy S26 256GB and Google Pixel 11 256GB, using the same storage tier rather than comparing a base model with a higher-capacity configuration.
Samsung Electronics announced a U.S. starting price of $899.99 for the Galaxy S26 on February 25, 2026. Google’s Store page displays a trade-in offer alongside a crossed-out $899 figure; that offer depends on eligibility and is not an unconditional retail price. These figures therefore do not establish which phone costs less at checkout. Before buying, compare the current no-trade-in price for each 256GB model in the same market, and account for any trade-in separately.
What the standard models offer
| Feature | Samsung Galaxy S26 | Google Pixel 11 |
|---|---|---|

| Rear cameras | 50MP wide, 12MP ultrawide, 10MP 3x telephoto | 48MP wide, 13MP ultrawide, 10.8MP 5x telephoto |
| Chip and launch software | Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy in U.S. launch specifications; Android 16 with One UI 8.5 | Google Tensor G6; Android 17 |
| Update commitment stated in the cited launch information | Duration not stated in Samsung’s cited launch announcement | Seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates, according to Google Store specifications accessed October 3, 2026 |
| Charging claim | Samsung says up to 69% in around 30 minutes, subject to its stated charging conditions | Google says up to 55% in around 30 minutes with a 30W USB-C PPS charger or higher, sold separately; Qi2.2 wireless charging up to 25W |
Samsung announced 256GB and 512GB Galaxy S26 configurations. Google lists 256GB as the Pixel 11 base storage and also lists a 512GB option. The table compares the 256GB versions.

Which differences are likely to matter in daily use?
Camera reach: Pixel has the longer listed optical telephoto
Google lists a 5x optical telephoto camera for Pixel 11, compared with Samsung’s 3x optical telephoto. That gives the Pixel the longer stated telephoto reach on paper. Megapixel counts and zoom specifications alone do not establish which phone takes better photos overall; no independent camera testing is available here.
Display: same size, different specifications
Both screens are listed at 6.3 inches. Samsung specifies FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X with an adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate, while Google specifies an Actua OLED running from 60Hz to 120Hz. Those manufacturer descriptions do not establish a measured quality winner.

Updates: Google states a specific duration
Google promises Pixel 11 seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates. The cited Samsung launch announcement identifies Android 16 and One UI 8.5 but does not state an update-support duration. That omission is not proof that Samsung offers no comparable policy; it means the cited information cannot support a like-for-like duration comparison.
Charging: treat the figures as separate manufacturer claims
Samsung’s claim is up to 69% in around 30 minutes under its stated charging conditions. Google’s claim is up to 55% in around 30 minutes using a 30W USB-C PPS charger or higher, which Google says is sold separately. Because the claims specify different conditions, they do not demonstrate a real-world charging winner. Pixel 11 also supports Qi2.2 wireless charging up to 25W.

Performance: chip names are not speed tests
The U.S. Galaxy S26 launch specifications name Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, Android 16, and One UI 8.5. Google lists Tensor G6 and Android 17 for Pixel 11. Without comparable benchmarks or hands-on testing, those names and software versions are not enough to conclude which phone is faster or smoother.

- Start with the transaction price. Compare the current unconditional 256GB prices in your market. Treat a trade-in as a separate, conditional discount, not as the phone’s standard price.
- Favor Pixel 11 if its listed strengths fit your priorities. Its specifications show a 5x telephoto, and Google states a seven-year OS, security, and Pixel Drop update commitment.
- Favor Galaxy S26 if its particular specifications or ecosystem suit you better. Its listed display supports adaptive refresh from 1Hz to 120Hz, and Samsung gives a different display description and a different charging claim. Assess the phones in person if display appearance or feel is decisive.
- Do not buy on a presumed camera or performance victory. The available manufacturer specifications do not establish overall photo quality, battery endurance, repair costs, or comparative speed.
On the evidence available, the better value depends on same-day equivalent pricing and what you value most—not on the two headline price presentations or any single specification.
