US Galaxy S26 prices after the increase
The table compares Samsung’s US list prices before and after October 1, 2026. These are list prices, not a guarantee of the amount a retailer charges or a temporary sale price. The figures were reported by 9to5Google and Tom’s Guide on October 1, 2026.
| Model | Storage | Before Oct. 1 | Current US list price | Increase |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S26 | 256GB | $899 | $999 | $100 |
| Galaxy S26 | 512GB | $1,099 | $1,199 | $100 |
| Galaxy S26+ | 256GB | $1,099 | $1,199 | $100 |
| Galaxy S26+ | 512GB | $1,299 | $1,399 | $100 |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra | 256GB | $1,299 | $1,399 | $100 |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra | 512GB | $1,499 | $1,599 | $100 |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra | 1TB | $1,799 | $1,999 | $200 |
How this compares with launch pricing
The S26 and S26+ were already more expensive at launch than their comparable S25 models: their February 2026 US launch prices were $899 and $1,099, respectively, each $100 above the prior-year counterpart. The S26 Ultra launched at $1,299, matching the previous generation’s starting price. The October change therefore brings the Ultra’s 256GB list price to $1,399, while the 1TB configuration has the largest increase in the current table. The Associated Press reported launch pricing and a March 11 retail availability date.
Prices rose in other markets, but not by the same amount
Samsung’s online stores in the US, Canada, UK, mainland Europe and India showed increases, according to GSMArena, which checked regional Samsung stores on October 1, 2026. The local-currency increases differ, so the US dollar amounts above should not be converted to estimate what a phone costs elsewhere. Use the Samsung store for your country to check the current model and storage price.

Retailers may still show earlier prices
When the increase was reported, Samsung.com had updated its US pricing, while Amazon and Best Buy had not fully updated; Tom’s Guide also reported the S26 Ultra available on Amazon at its original price. Listings can change, and a retailer’s displayed offer is not necessarily Samsung’s current list price. Before buying, verify:
- The seller is the retailer or an authorized seller you intend to buy from.
- The listing is for the right S26 model and storage tier.
- The final checkout price, including any taxes or delivery charges that apply.
- The return window and conditions, especially if the price changes or the product is opened.
A listing at the former price can be a worthwhile deal, but compare the actual checkout terms rather than assuming the old price applies to every configuration.

Why did Samsung raise the prices?
The cited October reports do not provide an explanation from Samsung. 9to5Google and Tom’s Guide describe higher memory and component costs, alongside AI-related demand, as likely industry pressures. That is reported analysis, not a confirmed Samsung explanation.
The Galaxy S26 FE was not part of this increase
The October change covered the S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra, not the S26 FE. The FE had already risen $50 compared with the S25 FE, according to the October reports; its exclusion from this particular increase does not mean its price was unchanged from the previous generation.

Check the full cost, not only the phone price
The amount due can include accessories or optional coverage beyond the handset. Samsung’s UK product page lists 256GB and 512GB options for the S26 and S26+, and says the phones include a data cable but not a charging adapter. It also offers Samsung Care+; the page describes unlimited Samsung-certified repairs and a free battery replacement if capacity falls below 80%, subject to plan terms. Those details are specific to the UK page and plan terms, and should not be assumed to apply unchanged in other regions. See Samsung’s UK Galaxy S26 product page.
Trade-in offers and promotions can affect the amount you pay, but they are separate from the listed phone price. Check the eligible device, credit amount, and offer terms for your country before treating a trade-in value as a discount available to everyone.
