Choose the Galaxy S26 FE if you want a larger 6.7-inch screen, a 4,900 mAh battery and the lower entry price. Choose the Galaxy S26 if you prefer a smaller 6.3-inch phone—or if its 256 GB price is close enough to the FE’s 256 GB price to justify choosing the compact model. Compare storage tiers as well as prices: the FE has a reported 128 GB entry configuration, while the S26’s reported starting configuration is 256 GB.
Prices and configurations vary by country and retailer. The figures below are dated snapshots, not guaranteed live offers.

How to choose between them
Choose the S26 FE for a larger screen and lower entry price
The FE’s 6.7-inch display gives you more screen area for reading, video and other everyday tasks. Its listed dimensions and 193 g weight also make it the larger, heavier phone. Samsung specifies a 4,900 mAh battery and up to 45 W wired charging. It estimates that a 45 W adapter can charge the FE to 69% in around 30 minutes; that is a manufacturer estimate, not an independent test. Actual battery runtime depends on use and settings, so capacity alone cannot guarantee a particular number of hours.

The FE is the straightforward pick if those size and battery characteristics matter more to you than having the smaller S26. Its lower reported entry price is for 128 GB, however, so compare the 256 GB FE with the 256 GB S26 before deciding on value.
Choose the S26 if compact size matters most
At 149.6 × 71.7 mm and 167 g, the S26 is smaller and lighter than the FE. Its 6.3-inch display is 0.4 inches smaller diagonally. If a phone that is easier to carry or handle is a priority, that difference is a concrete reason to choose the standard model.

Samsung’s interim report lists different S26 processors by market: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 or Exynos 2600. The available sources do not establish a complete, current, region-specific performance comparison with the FE’s Exynos 2500, so a claim that one is faster across markets would go beyond the evidence here.

TechRadar also reported that a 512 GB FE was unavailable in the US at review time, while listing it at £949 in the UK and AU$1,599 in Australia. These are review-time figures, not assurances of current availability. See TechRadar’s FE review for its dated launch-price reporting.
Tom’s Guide reported that the US S26 starting price had recently risen while the FE’s had not. Because prices and promotions can change, check the same retailer, country and storage capacity when making the comparison. If considering a trade-in, carrier deal or installment plan, compare the full terms and total cost rather than only the advertised monthly payment.

- The Galaxy S25 FE features a large, immersive Dynamic AMOLED display with smooth refresh rate and enhanced brightness, delivering vivid colors and sharp clarity whether you're streaming, browsing, or using it outdoors.
Camera differences: consider zoom, not just megapixels
Samsung lists three rear cameras on the FE: a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12 MP ultrawide and an 8 MP 3× optical telephoto with OIS. TechRadar says the higher-priced S26 has a 10 MP zoom camera. Those resolution figures alone do not show which phone takes better photos; image processing, lens design and shooting conditions matter too. The sources here do not provide a controlled, side-by-side image comparison.
If you regularly photograph distant subjects, compare sample images from the exact models and consider the stated optical zoom reach rather than choosing by megapixel count alone.

Software support and the FE’s included trial
Samsung says the S26 FE launches with One UI 9 based on Android 17 and guarantees seven major Android OS upgrades, plus up to seven years of security patches. Samsung also advertises a six-month Google AI Pro trial; availability and offer terms may depend on market. The cited sources do not provide a matching current S26 support commitment, so this comparison cannot establish which model receives longer support.
Quick Recap
Buying checklist
- Decide whether you want the FE’s 6.7-inch screen or the S26’s 6.3-inch size.
- Compare the FE at 256 GB with the S26 at 256 GB before judging the price gap; consider the FE’s 128 GB tier separately.
- Check current local prices, stock, configurations and promotion terms at the retailer where you plan to buy.
- For camera priorities, look for sample images from both models rather than treating megapixels as a quality score.
- Verify the phone’s processor and available storage configuration for your country before ordering.
