Samsung Galaxy phones can now share files with Apple devices through Quick Share, but the feature is limited to selected models and is still rolling out. Galaxy S26 was the first supported Samsung family; selected Galaxy S24, S25, Z Fold and Z Flip models were added through One UI 8.5 beta updates. Even on an eligible phone, the option may not appear in every market yet.
What “Samsung AirDrop” actually means
There is no separate Samsung AirDrop app. Galaxy-to-Apple sharing is an option inside Samsung’s Quick Share interface, using interoperability Google announced for Quick Share and Apple’s AirDrop. Google introduced the capability on November 20, 2025, initially for the Pixel 10 family. Samsung began its rollout to Galaxy phones the following year. Google’s announcement described the aim this way: “When it comes to sharing moments between family and friends, what device you have shouldn’t matter — sharing should just work.”
For a transfer to work, the Galaxy must have the compatible Quick Share feature, and the Apple device must be discoverable through AirDrop. This enables sharing across platforms; it does not make Apple devices use Samsung’s Quick Share app.
Which Samsung Galaxy devices support sharing with Apple?
Samsung’s announcements describe a staged, model-specific rollout rather than support for every Galaxy phone or tablet. The Galaxy S26 series was the initial Samsung family. Samsung’s April 9, 2026 One UI 8.5 beta announcement identified these additional selected models:

- Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Flip6
Samsung also said a March beta brought the feature to the Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy Tab S11 series. Availability for those and other models can vary by market and rollout. Samsung’s March 2026 footnote said “Share with Apple devices” was supported only on the Galaxy S26 and selected flagship models at that time. Samsung’s launch announcement and its One UI 8.5 beta announcement provide the dated eligibility details.
Those announcements do not establish support for all Galaxy models, all software releases, or every country. A model appearing in an announcement is not by itself a guarantee that the setting has reached every user of that model.

Software requirements and how to find the option
Samsung lists two minimum software requirements for Galaxy-to-Apple sharing: Quick Share app version 13.8.51.27 or later and Google Play services version 26.11.xx or later. Quick Share uses Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for sharing. Samsung notes that availability and timing may vary by market.
- Update the required components. Check that Quick Share is version 13.8.51.27 or later and Google Play services is version 26.11.xx or later.
- Open the Quick Share settings. On the Galaxy, go to Settings > Connected devices > Quick Share.
- Look for “Share with Apple devices.” If the option is available, enable it and follow the on-screen directions.
- Make the Apple device discoverable. Set AirDrop so the intended sender can find the recipient, then choose the Apple device from Quick Share.
The exact availability of the Apple-device setting depends on the model, market and rollout status. Updating the required components is necessary, but it cannot force the option to appear on an unsupported or not-yet-enabled phone.

Why “Share with Apple devices” may be missing or unreliable
The feature arrived in stages, and eligibility is limited to selected devices. Samsung’s market-dependent rollout means a compatible Galaxy may not receive the setting at the same time as the same model elsewhere. An update to One UI alone does not prove that the Quick Share interoperability option is enabled for that user.
A March 30, 2026 TechRadar report documented users saying the option was missing or did not work on some updated Samsung phones, while others reported success. That reporting is consistent with a rollout that was still uneven; it does not establish that every supported phone will fail, or identify one cause for every problem.

- Confirm the exact model. General Galaxy branding is not enough; Samsung has named specific device families and models.
- Check both version requirements. Quick Share and Google Play services have separate minimum versions.
- Check the menu again after updates. If “Share with Apple devices” remains absent, the model or market may not have received the feature yet.
- Check AirDrop discoverability. The Apple recipient must be discoverable for the Galaxy to find it.
- Allow for staged availability. Samsung says timing may vary by market, and reports from the rollout period show that the option was not consistent for all users.
What the feature does—and what is not established
Quick Share’s Apple-device option is intended to let a compatible Galaxy share content with an Apple device using AirDrop interoperability. The announcements establish the rollout and software requirements, but the cited sources do not provide a transfer-speed benchmark or prove universal compatibility across every Galaxy and Apple device. They also do not establish that the feature is available everywhere simply because a phone has received One UI 8.5.
Samsung’s initial announcement on March 22, 2026 said support would begin rolling out to Galaxy S26 from March 23, first in Korea and then in Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia and Taiwan. The expansion schedule for other devices and markets is subject to change. Check Samsung’s announcements for the listed models and market qualifications rather than assuming a broader launch.
