There are no published system requirements for RuneScape 4 or RuneScape Reignited. Jagex has not announced which platforms RS4 will support, and Reignited’s official page does not list hardware requirements. The published specifications you can check today are for the existing RuneScape client; they do not establish whether a PC will run either future experience.
RuneScape 4 and Reignited are separate projects
RuneScape 4 (RS4) is a new MMORPG that Jagex says is being built in Unreal Engine. It is independent of RuneScape, Old School RuneScape, and Dragonwilds. Jagex describes it as set in Gielinor’s Sixth Age, beginning in Ashenfall, and still in early development—“a few years away.” The company says it is too early to disclose platforms or other gameplay details. RuneScape Reignited is not another name for RS4. Jagex describes it as a remastered RuneScape journey that starts again in Lumbridge, with recent updates and a restoration path. Its page says the next remastered journey parts will arrive later in 2027 and advertises a full-access window without membership from December 2 to December 12. The page does not state PC requirements. Because those rollout dates can change, check the official Reignited page for current details.

Current RuneScape’s published Windows recommendations
Jagex Support lists these recommended specifications for the Windows RuneScape client. They are recommendations for the existing client—not minimum requirements, RS4 requirements, or a guarantee of a particular frame rate.

Jagex’s same support page lists separate requirements for macOS 11 and later and for mobile devices. Use the platform-specific details on the official recommended-specifications page if you are checking one of those versions; the Windows list above does not apply to them.

How to check your PC against the current RuneScape list
- Check Windows version and bitness. Open Settings > System > About. Under “Windows specifications,” check the version; under “Device specifications,” check “System type” for a 64-bit operating system.
- Check your processor and installed memory. On the same Settings > System > About page, note “Processor” and “Installed RAM.” Compare the processor model and clock information with Jagex’s recommendation, and check whether the PC has 8 GB RAM.
- Identify your graphics card. Open Device Manager > Display adapters to see the GPU model. Compare it with the listed NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel graphics options. If Windows shows more than one adapter, make sure you identify the GPU the game will use.
- Check available cache storage. Open File Explorer > This PC and check free space on the drive where the client stores its cache. Jagex recommends at least 8 GB available for cache.
- Check graphics API support. Compare the GPU and driver’s supported OpenGL and Vulkan versions with OpenGL 4.4 and Vulkan 1.1. If those versions are not clear from Windows, consult the GPU manufacturer’s documentation for your exact model and driver.
- Use the right requirements page. Compare each component with Jagex’s current list for the specific game and platform you intend to use. Passing the current RuneScape check says nothing conclusive about RS4 or Reignited.
When can you check whether your PC will run RS4 or Reignited?
For RS4, wait for Jagex to announce supported platforms and publish hardware requirements; its current announcement says those details are too early to disclose. For Reignited, check Jagex’s official page for any requirements added alongside its rollout information. Once specifications are available, compare your operating system, CPU, GPU, memory, storage, and any required graphics APIs with the list for your platform.
Until then, the evidence does not support a specific hardware upgrade or a compatibility promise. Keep your PC’s component details handy and recheck the official Jagex pages when the projects’ requirements are announced.
