Square Enix’s September 10, 2026 announcement also says the setting can be adjusted “at any point in the game.” That is a useful permission, but it is not a promise about every possible consequence or timing detail. The announcement does not say whether the change takes effect instantly, whether it affects an encounter already in progress, or whether a confirmation prompt appears.
