Revolut plans to launch Revolut Ventures in 2027, allowing eligible users of its app to invest in selected high-growth private technology companies before they reach a public listing. It is not available yet, and Revolut has not announced the eligibility test, launch countries, minimum investment, fees, first investments or an exact launch date. The platform is being developed with Carne Group and is expected to sit alongside Revolut’s public-market products and its existing private-market funds.
What is Revolut Ventures?
Revolut Ventures is a planned private-market platform for investing in non-listed technology businesses. Revolut says the service will target companies with high growth potential before an initial public offering, giving eligible app users access to a part of the market that is normally limited to institutions, venture funds and wealthy private investors.
The announcement does not identify the first companies or funds. It also does not establish whether users will buy shares directly, invest through pooled funds, or use another structure. Those details matter because they determine voting rights, valuation, diversification, fees and how an investment can eventually be sold.
When will Revolut users be able to invest?
Revolut has said the platform is planned for 2027, but has not supplied a launch day or guaranteed availability in every market. Until the service appears in the app and Revolut publishes its legal and product documents, users should treat it as a forthcoming initiative rather than an investable feature.

Who will be eligible?
Eligibility is a firm condition of the announcement, but the qualification rules have not been published. Revolut has not said whether access will depend on residence, investor knowledge, wealth, experience, account type, regulatory classification or a combination of those factors.
Which countries and what minimum will apply?
Launch geography, minimum investment, recurring fees and transaction charges are all unannounced. Rules may differ by jurisdiction because private investments are subject to local investor-protection and marketing requirements. Prospective users should wait for the country-specific terms rather than infer access from the availability of Revolut’s regular stock-trading service.
Why is Revolut targeting private technology companies?
Revolut’s rationale is that businesses are remaining private for longer, so more growth and value creation may occur before ordinary investors can buy public shares. In figures cited by Revolut from PitchBook and Morningstar Indexes, the median company age at IPO rose from 6.9 years in 2014 to 11 years in 2025. A longer private phase can create an access gap, but it also means investors must commit capital while company valuations, financing needs and exit timing remain uncertain.

Rolandas Juteika, Revolut’s Head of Wealth and Trading (EEA), described the goal as removing “one of the final barriers in wealth management: retail investor exclusion from non-listed companies.” That is an ambition, not a promise that every user will qualify or that any investment will produce a return.
How will Revolut Ventures relate to Revolut’s existing Private Markets product?
Revolut’s July 2026 Private Markets launch offered selected funds managed by Apollo, Ares, Hamilton Lane and Partners Group. Those funds cover private equity, private credit and private infrastructure; the four managers collectively oversee more than $2.8 trillion in assets under management and supervision, according to Revolut.
Revolut Ventures is described as an extension into private technology-company exposure rather than a replacement for those funds. The practical differences will depend on the final structure. This comparison shows what is established and what remains unknown:

Who is developing and holding the investments?
Carne Group is Revolut’s named development and alternative-fund management partner for the initiative. Reporting identifies Alter Domus as fund administrator and BNY as custodian and depositary. Their involvement indicates a regulated fund infrastructure is being considered, but it does not reveal the final investor protections, pricing method or legal vehicle.
What are the main risks of private technology investing?
Revolut’s own help material describes private markets as complex and highly risky. Depending on the instrument, investors may face lockups, notice periods and liquidity gates, and may lose some or all of their capital.
- Illiquidity: There may be no daily market in which to sell. Even a fund with a redemption window can restrict or suspend withdrawals.
- Valuation uncertainty: Private companies do not have a continuously quoted exchange price. A later financing round or write-down can materially change the reported value.
- Concentration: A single company can fail, dilute existing holders or miss growth targets. Diversification is narrower unless the product pools many holdings.
- Long time horizon: An exit may depend on an acquisition, a public listing or another secondary transaction, none of which is guaranteed.
- Complex terms: Fees, carried interest, notice requirements, gates and distribution rules can reduce returns or delay access to cash.
Revolut says its existing ELTIF 2.0 products are intended for investors with a multi-year horizon and should make up only a small part of a diversified portfolio. That guidance is relevant to any future venture offering, but the final Revolut Ventures documents will control.

What should users check before committing money?
- Confirm that the product is actually available in your country and that you meet the published eligibility test.
- Read the offering document for the legal structure, underlying companies, valuation frequency, conflicts and investor protections.
- Check the minimum subscription, all one-off and ongoing fees, currency costs and any performance-related charges.
- Find the lockup, notice period, redemption window, gate and suspension rules; assume you may not be able to sell when you want.
- Decide how the investment fits alongside emergency savings and diversified public-market holdings, rather than treating access as a reason to over-allocate.
Can investors sell whenever they want?
There is no basis to assume that Revolut Ventures positions will be freely sellable. Private-company investments usually lack an exchange, and Revolut has not published redemption mechanics for this platform. Existing ELTIF products may offer periodic liquidity windows, but Revolut warns that redemptions are not guaranteed and can be gated or suspended.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will every Revolut customer automatically get access to Revolut Ventures?
No. Revolut has explicitly described the audience as eligible users. It has not yet published the screening criteria, so having an active app account alone does not establish access.
Has Revolut named the private technology companies available through the service?
No companies or funds have been announced. The initial investment list should be verified in the final offering documents rather than inferred from Revolut’s public-market catalogue.

Is Revolut Ventures the same as buying a technology stock?
No. A stock bought on an exchange normally has a continuously quoted market price and can be sold during trading hours. A private-company investment may have infrequent valuations, transfer restrictions and no assured exit.
Could a private-market fund suspend withdrawals?
Yes. Revolut says its existing ELTIF 2.0 products can gate or suspend redemptions, even where periodic liquidity windows exist. Investors should review the specific fund rules because terms are product-specific.
