ReStory: Chill Electronics Repairs is a single-player PC shop simulator built around restoring gadgets and getting to know the people who bring them in. Its repair work and early-2000s atmosphere have drawn favorable reviews, but critics also flag repetition and uneven character writing. It looks most appealing if you enjoy methodical, task-led play; whether the loop stays satisfying over time is the key question a buyer should weigh.
What do you do in ReStory?
Set in a Tokyo electronics repair shop in the mid-2000s, ReStory asks you to take in customers’ devices, restore them and run the business. The official Steam listing describes a hands-on sequence: take gadgets apart, clean them, replace faulty parts and reassemble them.
The fictional devices span consoles, handheld systems, phones, cameras, music players and household appliances. The listing specifically notes that Atari consoles are officially licensed for the game. Between jobs, you manage finances, handle in-person and online orders, and use an in-game browser to look for spare parts. These features give the work a shop-management frame, though their actual strategic depth can only be judged through play.
Is ReStory relaxing or repetitive?
The repair sequence is the clearest appeal. Critics have praised its tactile tasks and atmosphere: MonsterVine’s August 6, 2026 review called cleaning metal frames and turning screws “a pleasant activity,” while GameSpew praised the presentation and its balance of realism with entertainment. Those are critics’ impressions, not a hands-on assessment here.

The main reservation is that the same task cycle may wear thin. Try Hard Guides wrote on August 6, 2026 that “the loop can get a bit repetitive and grindy,” and suggested it suits short bursts. That caveat matters if you want constant mechanical variety or a briskly changing challenge. The available evidence supports a more measured expectation: a deliberate restoration routine with a risk of repetition, rather than a claim that the game remains fresh throughout.
Does ReStory have a story?
Yes. Conversations and choices are part of the shop routine, and the official listing says decisions can affect customers and the business, with multiple endings. It gives examples involving a disturbing discovery on a customer’s phone and whether to help a student confess their feelings; these are examples, not a complete plot summary.

The promise of consequential choices may appeal if you want a personal dimension alongside the repairs. Reception is less unanimous on the characters: Game8’s August 11, 2026 review praised the restoration work but said the characters “struggle to keep up.” That makes the narrative a potential complement to the core activity, not a reason to assume the writing will carry the game for every player.
What do critics and players think?
At the captured 2026 PC page state, Metacritic listed an 83 Metascore based on 12 critic reviews: nine positive, three mixed and none negative. The score is a dated snapshot, not a permanent rating. Steam’s English-language user aggregate showed 95% positive from 5,325 reviews, and its recent-review aggregate showed 94% positive from 1,370 reviews, both accessed October 3, 2026. Steam review figures change over time, so treat them as that day’s snapshot.

- 122 in 1 Precision Screwdriver Set: This precision screwdriver set contains 101 precision bits and 21 auxiliary tools—screwdriver handle, flexible shaft, extension rod, magnetizer, magnetic mat, spudgers, and more. It handles PC maintenance—RAM upgrades, SSD swaps, PC assembly—while also tackling teardowns and repairs of PS4, Xbox, other game consoles, drones, smartphones, tablets (battery and screen replacements), and other electronics. Rare and specialty bits are included for servicing specialized devices.
- Maximize Repair Efficiency: Engineered for efficient repairs, the handle is ergonomically designed and non-slip, fitting comfortably in your hand and spinning smoothly. A 4.56-inch alloy-steel extension shaft offers high hardness and resists bending, while the spring-constructed flexible shaft flexes up to 180° to reach and turn tiny screws deep inside a chassis with ease.
- Dual-Magnet Design: The kit includes two magnetic tools. A magnetizer boosts bit magnetism to pick up screws, and a magnetic mat holds and organizes every tiny screw you remove. Used together, they slash the risk of loss or mix-ups, keeping every teardown and reassembly neat and orderly.
- Quality First: The bits are forged from Cr-V steel and heat-treated to 60 HRC for exceptional hardness, strength, and deformation resistance—ideal for long-term electronic repairs. Spare bits in the most common sizes are also included, so a lost tip never leaves you short, keeping the kit fully functional and extending its service life.

It’s the perfect household essential and an ideal gift for husbands, dads, sons, or friends who love electronics repair and DIY projects.
Together, the figures indicate favorable reception, while the cited criticism points to the practical trade-off: satisfying, atmospheric repairs may be enough for players who like repetition, but less so for anyone expecting consistently varied tasks or especially strong character writing.

Consider it if the idea of methodically restoring nostalgic devices, running a small shop and meeting its customers sounds appealing. The most credible concern is not whether the premise is clear, but whether its repair loop and character stories provide enough variation for the time you want to spend.
