Reforj does not have published numeric PC system requirements yet. As checked on October 20, 2026, the US Steam listing marks the release date as “To be announced” and labels the operating system, processor, graphics, sound-card and additional-requirement fields “TBC.” That means no reliable GPU, CPU, RAM or storage target can be given today.
You can still prepare an accurate check: record your computer’s hardware now, then compare it with the official Steam System Requirements section as soon as 4J Studios publishes minimum and recommended specifications. Until then, treat any claim that a particular graphics card or laptop is guaranteed to run Reforj as speculation.
What is officially known about Reforj on PC
Reforj is an upcoming game from 4J Studios. Its US Steam page currently shows the release date as “To be announced.” The same page lists every PC requirement field as “TBC” rather than supplying model numbers or capacities.

4J Studios’ official website promotes the game and provides information about a future official playtest, but it does not publish a numeric PC specification table. The absence of figures is not evidence that Reforj will have unusually low or unusually high requirements; it simply means the developer has not stated the targets publicly.

Why you should not guess a GPU or CPU yet
A game’s hardware target depends on its final build, rendering settings, world size, optimization, supported resolutions and the features enabled at launch. A pre-release page can change as development continues. Matching a graphics card mentioned in a forum post, trailer discussion or another game’s requirements would not establish Reforj compatibility.
Do not treat the following as an official requirement:
- A GPU recommendation copied from a different game or an early discussion thread.
- A laptop model that happens to run another title from the same genre.
- A retailer’s “gaming PC” label without a component-by-component comparison.
- A system that launches the game during a test as proof that the final release will perform the same way.
Only the eventual Reforj specification published by 4J Studios or displayed on the official Steam listing can define the supported target. Independent testing can then show how those targets translate into frame rates and settings, but it cannot replace the developer’s minimum and recommended requirements.
How to check the official requirements when they appear
Steam’s own guidance is to open the game’s Store page and scroll to its System Requirements section. Steam says: “You can check each game’s system requirements and compatible operating systems on that game’s Steam Store page by scrolling down to its ‘System Requirements’ section.” It also advises checking hardware requirements in addition to compatible operating systems.
- Open the official Reforj page in the Steam client or on Steam’s website.
- Scroll past the description and feature information to System Requirements.
- Record both columns if Steam shows Minimum and Recommended.
- Copy the exact operating-system version, CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, graphics API, audio and network notes.
- Check the date of the listing or announcement. Requirements can change before release or during testing.
- Compare each line with your computer, not just the GPU name.
If the section still says “TBC,” there is no official numeric target to compare. Recheck the page after a formal announcement, playtest notice or release-date update.

Record your computer’s specifications now
Having a written inventory makes the later comparison quick and prevents a common mistake: checking only the graphics card while overlooking the operating system, processor, memory or available storage.
Windows version and system details
- Press Windows key + I to open Settings.
- Choose System, then About.
- Record the Device specifications entries for processor and installed RAM.
- Under Windows specifications, record the edition, version and OS build.
The version matters because a game may require a particular Windows release even when the hardware is fast enough. A 64-bit installation may also be specified; record the system type shown on the About page.

- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters and record every listed adapter. A laptop may show both integrated and discrete graphics.
- For more detail, press Windows key + R, enter
dxdiag, and press Enter. - Open the Display or Render tab and note the GPU name, dedicated video memory and driver date.
Do not combine the memory of two adapters. When a laptop has integrated graphics and a separate GPU, the game may need to be assigned to the discrete adapter through Windows graphics settings or the laptop manufacturer’s control software. The official Reforj requirements will determine whether either adapter is supported.
Processor and memory
The About page gives the processor’s model name and installed RAM. Task Manager provides a live view:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
- Select Performance.
- Choose CPU to see the processor model and current speed.
- Choose Memory to see total RAM, speed and how much is in use.
Record the model, not only the current clock speed. A temporary boost frequency is not a substitute for the processor model listed by the developer.

Storage and free space
- Open Settings > System > Storage to see free space on each drive.
- In Steam, open Steam > Settings > Storage to identify the library drive where Reforj would be installed.
- Record both the drive’s free capacity and whether it is an SSD or hard disk.
The required install size is currently TBC. Leave more free space than the eventual download size because installation, updates and temporary files can require additional capacity. Do not convert an unknown requirement into a guessed number.
Audio, network and graphics API information
Most modern Windows systems satisfy ordinary audio-device requirements, but the Reforj listing may eventually specify an audio feature or a network connection. Check the official notes rather than assuming that an offline launch is supported.
For graphics API support, dxdiag reports DirectX information, but the final requirement may name a specific API feature level or another API. Compare the exact wording. A GPU that supports a newer API is not automatically guaranteed to meet every performance or driver requirement.
Use a comparison sheet instead of a single “can it run?” guess
When requirements are published, create a row for every requirement. This exposes a bottleneck that a single overall judgment can hide.

Use “unclear” when the developer gives an equivalent-performance statement that you cannot confidently map to your component. That is safer than declaring a pass based on a similar-sounding model number.

How to interpret minimum and recommended tiers
Minimum does not mean smooth at every setting
Steam warns that computers at or below a game’s listed requirements may experience performance or launch issues. Even when a system meets the minimum line, the result may depend on resolution, graphics preset, background applications, driver version and the game build. Minimum specifications are a compatibility floor, not a promise of a fixed frame rate.
Recommended is not a universal performance guarantee
A recommended tier normally represents the developer’s preferred baseline for a stated configuration, but the listing may or may not include a resolution or frame-rate target. If Reforj publishes such a target, keep it attached to the recommendation when comparing systems. “Recommended” without a stated resolution or frame rate cannot be translated into a guaranteed number of frames per second.
One failed category can matter more than several passes
A fast GPU cannot compensate for an unsupported operating system. Additional RAM does not fix an incompatible graphics API. Likewise, free storage is necessary for installation but does not make a weak processor faster. Evaluate every row before deciding to buy, upgrade or wait.
What this means for laptops
“Will Reforj run on my laptop?” cannot be answered from the laptop’s brand or purchase price. Use the exact CPU, GPU, RAM, Windows version and available storage. Pay special attention to these conditions:
- Many laptops list an integrated GPU and a separate GPU. Record both and identify which one runs games.
- Mobile versions of a GPU can have different performance and memory from desktop versions with similar names.
- Thin systems may reduce clock speeds when they become hot or when running on battery power.
- Battery mode can select a lower-power graphics adapter or processor profile. Compare performance while plugged in only after the official requirements are known.
- Upgradeable RAM or storage does not change a non-upgradeable CPU or GPU. Check the manufacturer’s service information before purchasing parts.
These are reasons to compare the complete specification, not evidence that Reforj has a particular laptop requirement. The developer’s eventual target remains the deciding reference.

Should you upgrade before Reforj requirements are published?
For most readers, waiting is the rational choice. There is no official GPU, CPU, RAM or storage figure against which to choose an upgrade, and the release date is still to be announced. Buying hardware solely for Reforj would require guessing at both the target and the game’s final optimization.
You can make low-risk preparations without committing to an upgrade:
- Keep Windows and graphics drivers supported by your hardware up to date.
- Record your exact components and maintain adequate free space on the intended Steam library drive.
- Check whether your laptop or desktop has a discrete GPU and whether it is working correctly.
- Watch the official Steam listing and 4J Studios announcements for the requirements and playtest information.
- Wait for independent testing if you need a specific resolution or frame-rate outcome rather than simple launch compatibility.
Using a future Reforj playtest as evidence
4J Studios has promoted a future official playtest, but the developer’s site does not currently provide numeric PC targets. If you receive access, treat the test as evidence about that test build only. Record the build date, graphics settings, resolution and whether the game used an integrated or discrete GPU. A successful playtest can show that your particular configuration launches that build; it does not guarantee identical behavior in the final release or on another computer.

If Reforj will not launch after requirements are available
Once official requirements exist, troubleshoot in a controlled order so you can identify which condition failed.
- Compare your Windows version, CPU, GPU, RAM, storage and API against every minimum line.
- Install the latest driver offered for your exact GPU model and restart Windows.
- Close overlays and background applications that consume substantial CPU or memory.
- Confirm that Steam installed the game on a drive with sufficient free space.
- Use Steam’s file-verification function for the Reforj installation if files may be incomplete or corrupted.
- If the computer is below the minimum requirement, expect launch or performance problems rather than assuming a software fix will solve them.
- For a system that meets the published target but still fails, capture the error text, Windows version, hardware list and game build when contacting official support.
Do not lower security settings or download unofficial replacement files to compensate for an unknown requirement. Use official updates and support channels.
When will the answer become definitive?
The answer becomes actionable when the official Steam System Requirements section replaces “TBC” with named hardware and software targets. At that point, compare your recorded specifications line by line, then look for testing that states its resolution, graphics preset and frame-rate conditions. Until both pieces exist, nobody can responsibly promise that a particular PC or laptop will run Reforj smoothly.

Bottom line
As of October 20, 2026, Reforj has no published numeric PC system requirements and no announced Steam release date. Check your computer now, but postpone upgrade decisions until 4J Studios or the official Steam listing supplies the minimum and recommended targets. Use Steam’s System Requirements section as the authoritative comparison point, and remember that meeting a minimum line is not a guarantee of trouble-free performance.
