Razer announced the Huntsman V3 Pro Mini 8KHz on October 1, 2026. It pairs true 8000 Hz polling and the company’s Advanced Input Control features with a 60% layout: a compact footprint that frees desk space and travels easily, but omits several familiar keys. Razer’s performance figures are company-reported results, not independent tests.
What’s new in the Huntsman V3 Pro Mini 8KHz?
The October 1, 2026 launch adds an 8KHz model to Razer’s Huntsman V3 Pro lineup. It is a 60% keyboard built around Razer Analog Optical Switches Gen-2 and includes adjustable actuation, Rapid Trigger, and the brand’s Advanced Input Control features.
| Feature | What Razer lists |
|---|---|
| Switches | Gen-2 Analog Optical Switches, rated by Razer for 100 million keystrokes |
| Actuation | Adjustable from 0.1 to 4.0 mm |
| Input controls | Rapid Trigger, Snap Flex, Snap Tap, Dynamic Keystroke, and Dual-Keypress Priority |
| Polling | True 8000 Hz HyperPolling |
| Construction and keycaps | 5052 aluminum alloy top case and textured doubleshot PBT keycaps |
| Settings | Onboard adjustment, storage for up to six profiles, and Synapse Web support |
Analog Optical switches detect how far a key is pressed, rather than only registering a simple on/off press. Razer says that enables adjustable actuation, Rapid Trigger, and analog inputs. Rapid Trigger is an input-control feature; Razer lists it separately from the actuation range, so the 0.1–4.0 mm figure should not be treated as a latency result.
What does 8000 Hz polling mean on a keyboard?
Polling rate describes how often a keyboard reports inputs to the computer. Razer explains that 1000 Hz allows up to 1,000 reports per second, while 8000 Hz allows up to 8,000. The corresponding intervals are 1 millisecond and 0.125 milliseconds, respectively. A faster reporting interval does not by itself establish how quickly a game responds: the rest of the system and the game also affect end-to-end latency.

What Razer’s latency and precision figures do—and don’t—show
Razer reports 0.48 ms average latency for the Huntsman V3 Pro Mini 8KHz, measured from switch actuation until the signal reaches the host USB port. Razer’s September 2026 internal tests compared it with 0.65 ms for the nearest competing keyboard tested. The company says all keyboards in that comparison used 0.1 mm actuation and their maximum polling rate. This is a manufacturer-reported, actuation-to-USB measurement—not an independent test or a guaranteed end-to-end result for a player’s setup. Razer’s product page cautions that end-to-end latency can vary with devices and configuration. (Razer newsroom launch and test details; Razer product page)
Razer also claims approximately 2.5 times better actuation-point precision than the competing keyboards it tested. Its October 2026 newsroom account says it took 20 measurements per keyboard, using the same key across devices at 0.1 mm actuation and 8000 Hz polling. That is Razer’s internal comparison; the figure has not been independently verified.

Is it a 60% keyboard, and what do you lose?
Yes. A 60% keyboard leaves out the dedicated function row, navigation cluster, and numpad. Razer’s stated benefit is more room for mouse movement, which can matter to players who use low sensitivity and make wide swipes, as well as a smaller board that is easier to carry between setups.
The tradeoff is that those dedicated keys are not present as a separate row or cluster. Razer says modifier keys can act as four-way arrow keys when tapped, but anyone who frequently uses the function row, navigation keys, or number pad should consider whether a compact layout fits their everyday work as well as gaming.

How do you configure it?
Razer describes both onboard controls and software options. The company says users can adjust actuation and Rapid Trigger sensitivity directly on the keyboard, save up to six profiles onboard, and use Synapse Web for compatible settings in a browser. Its product FAQ says the polling rate can be changed in Razer Synapse; select 8000 Hz there to enable that rate. These are manufacturer-described setup routes.
