AS reported that Luiz Felipe had a tear in his left hamstring and underwent surgery on 24 April 2026. The report said he would miss the end of the season. The reviewed sources did not include an official Rayo Vallecano medical bulletin detailing his rehabilitation.

Yes. LaLiga’s 2026/27 squad listing identifies Luiz Felipe as Rayo Vallecano defender number 5. In July 2026, AS reported that he renewed his contract for one season, through June 2027. Rayo’s official signing announcement describes him as a centre-back and notes his previous spells at Lazio, Real Betis and Olympique de Marseille.
Could he play against Athletic Club?
LaLiga’s fixture listing showed Rayo Vallecano scheduled to play Athletic Club on 10 October 2026 at 14:00. That date falls within Sofascore’s estimated return month, but the fixture listing does not say whether Luiz Felipe will be available. It is not evidence that he is set to play in that match.

How to tell whether a return is confirmed
Different updates describe different stages of readiness. A profile’s estimated month is not equivalent to a club confirmation, a return to training, medical clearance or inclusion in a match squad. For a firm availability update, look for a fresh Rayo Vallecano announcement or a coach’s press-conference comments; no such return confirmation was identified in the reviewed club information.
