If the PS5 Store charged you but the game is missing, first check Transaction History on the PlayStation account that made the purchase. Then look in Game Library > Your Collection. If the transaction is confirmed but the game is still absent, check hidden games, restore licenses, and verify which account owns the title before attempting a download or contacting support.
A charge alone does not establish that the game is available to the account currently signed in. The next step depends on what you find: a game absent from the library points to an account or entitlement issue, while a game visible in the library with a stalled download points to a download issue.
Is the game missing, or is its download failing?
Start by separating these two problems. A title that does not appear in the library needs an ownership and license check; a title that appears but will not download needs download troubleshooting. A purchase may also be an add-on or other content that is not represented by a standalone game tile.

Do not buy the game again while you are checking. Keep the original transaction details and any relevant screenshots so PlayStation Support can distinguish a successful purchase from a pending, failed, duplicate, or misapplied charge.

How do I confirm that the purchase went through?
Check Transaction History on the PlayStation account that completed the purchase. PlayStation’s transaction-history guidance identifies this as a way to confirm whether a purchase was successful.
- On the PS5, open Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Transaction History.
- Find the transaction for the game and open its details.
- Check what the transaction covers and whether it is associated with the account currently signed in.
If another person or account on the console made the purchase, check that account’s transaction history instead. A transaction on one account does not make the game appear as a direct purchase in a different account’s library. If you cannot match the charge to a transaction, avoid treating the charge by itself as proof that this account owns the game; keep the charge record and ask PlayStation Support to help reconcile it.
Where should a purchased PS5 game appear?
A directly purchased game should normally be available in the purchasing account’s game library. PlayStation’s download guidance directs owners to select a purchased game from the library and download it there.

Check whether the game is hidden
A game can be absent from the visible collection because it is hidden. Inspect the library’s hidden-games setting before concluding that the transaction failed. PlayStation notes that games hidden in the library are hidden in the libraries of all consoles, so hiding a title is not limited to one PS5.

Could another account or a PlayStation Plus benefit explain the missing game?
Yes. A game may belong to a different account on the console, or access may come from a PlayStation Plus benefit rather than a direct purchase. Those are different kinds of access, so check the relevant account or subscription rather than relying only on the console’s current user.
If another account bought the game
Sign in to the account that appears in the transaction history and confirm that the game is in that account’s library. If another account on the PS5 owns it and the game is meant to be playable by other users of that console, check that Console Sharing and Offline Play is enabled for the owning account. The setting does not transfer ownership to the other account; it governs access on the shared console.
If the game came through PlayStation Plus
Confirm that the relevant PlayStation Plus subscription is active and that the title remains available under the applicable benefit. A game accessed through a subscription is not the same as a game bought outright, so check the subscription-based access rather than assuming that a past charge for the service is a purchase of that individual title.
How do I restore a missing game license?
Restore licenses when a purchase is confirmed but the game or add-on cannot be located, or when the console shows a padlock icon. PlayStation says restoring licenses does not affect saved data.

- Select the restore option and allow the console to complete the operation.
- Return to Games home > Game Library > Your Collection and check for the title again.
Restoring licenses is an account-access troubleshooting step, not a way to turn an unsuccessful transaction into a purchase. If the correct account has no successful transaction for the game, resolve the transaction question with support rather than treating license restoration as confirmation of ownership.
What if the charge was for an add-on instead of the game?
A PlayStation Store transaction can cover content that does not appear as a standalone game in the library. Season passes and in-game currency, for example, may be listed under Game and App Services instead of appearing as a separate game tile.
- On the PS5, open Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Game and App Services.
- Inspect the relevant application and its listed services.
- Compare the service or content shown there with the transaction details before concluding that the full game is missing.
This check is especially important when the transaction name refers to content for a game you already own. An add-on, season pass, or in-game purchase will not necessarily create a new game tile to download.

What should I do if the game appears but will not download?
If the game is visible in the library, troubleshoot the download rather than repeating the missing-entitlement checks. PlayStation recommends pausing and resuming a stalled download first, then removing that download entry and starting it again if necessary.

- Pause the download, then resume it.
- If it remains stuck, cancel and delete the download from the list.
- Return to the game in Game Library and try downloading it again.
- Check the official PlayStation service-status page for an outage, install the latest PS5 system software, and verify that the console has enough free storage.
Storage matters when a download will not start, but adding storage will not make a purchase that is missing from the library appear or restore an account’s license. If you do not have access to the console, the PlayStation App offers another route: open Game Library > Purchased, select the game, and choose Download to Console. Remote downloading requires a paired console and the required internet and rest-mode settings.

Contact PlayStation Support if the transaction is confirmed on the correct account but the game remains absent after you check the library, hidden games, sharing, and licenses. Contact support as well if you cannot reconcile the charge with the account’s transaction history.
Prepare the transaction details and a concise description of what happens. PlayStation asks users to provide error codes or messages, describe the issue and how to reproduce it, give the date and time of an access attempt, and include a screenshot or video if possible. State which account made the purchase and which of the relevant checks you completed; this helps support distinguish an account or entitlement issue from a download problem.
Can I request a refund?
Open the transaction in Transaction History and check whether a Request Refund option is available. When are Safe Mode steps appropriate?
Safe Mode operations, including clearing the cache and rebuilding the database, are later troubleshooting steps if the account, transaction, library, sharing, license, service-status, software, and storage checks have not resolved the issue. They should not be the first response to a missing purchase: they do not verify which account bought the game or replace a failed transaction.
Use PlayStation’s troubleshooting guidance for the current Safe Mode procedure, and first make sure you have completed the account and transaction checks. If the purchase is confirmed and the issue persists, support can help determine whether further console troubleshooting is appropriate.
