What is actually available on October 6?
Sony’s September 30, 2026 announcement lists three October Monthly Games, available to PlayStation Plus members from Tuesday, October 6 through Monday, November 2. The Spider-Man item is a separate avatar promotion, not a playable game. Sony’s official PlayStation Blog announcement gives the offer details.

Sony says the Monthly Games lineup may differ by region and advises checking the PlayStation Store on release day. The avatar promotion is available only in regions where Sony Pictures Core is available.
How do PlayStation Plus members claim the Spider-Man avatars?
PlayStation Plus members can claim the avatars in the Sony Pictures Core app at no extra cost, according to Adam Michel, Senior Director of Content Acquisition & Operations at Sony Interactive Entertainment. Sony does not state an exact launch time or the number of avatars in its announcement.

The promotion ends October 20, 2026, but that is not the voucher-code expiration date: Sony says the avatar voucher code expires October 6, 2027. The promotion itself is limited to regions with Sony Pictures Core.
Can non-members get the avatars?
Sony says people without PlayStation Plus must get Spider-Man: Brand New Day on Sony Pictures Core to receive the avatars. This is not an announcement that the movie is included free with a PlayStation Plus membership. PlayStation Plus also carries a recurring subscription fee that is charged automatically until canceled.

Sony separately listed Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PS5 in its February 2026 PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Game Catalog announcement, with availability beginning February 17. That earlier catalog listing does not make it part of the October 6 offer or establish that it remains available in every region now. Check the current PlayStation Store listing for availability.
