Our verdict on Vinted
Vinted is a peer-to-peer marketplace for buying and selling second-hand clothing, accessories, home items, electronics, books and collectibles. Its Android app supports both sides of the transaction: shoppers can browse and favourite listings, contact sellers, make offers and purchase through Buy now, while sellers can list items, message buyers and manage orders. The service is also available on the web, making it relevant to people who want a marketplace account across mobile and browser. It is a fit for second-hand shoppers who also want to sell, rather than buyers seeking a conventional retail catalogue.
The purchase flow combines in-app checkout with delivery choices. At checkout, buyers choose a payment method and delivery option; eligible packages can be tracked from the order conversation screen, and pickup-point collection is available where offered. Shipping options vary by location, so the delivery experience depends on where a buyer and seller are. According to Vinted's published description, selling is free, but buyers pay shipping and a Buyer Protection fee may apply to purchases made through Buy now.
