Video Repair Tool is desktop software for repairing damaged, corrupt, broken and truncated video files. It is aimed at people recovering recordings from digital cameras, smartphones and other devices, with local repair on Windows and Intel-based Mac computers. The software supports MOV, MP4, M4V and 3GP containers, and can work with multiple codecs including H.264, H.265, ProRes and DVCPRO. Its central workflow uses an intact reference movie from the same camera to reconstruct missing video and audio structures.
Pricing is straightforward for occasional or repeated recovery work. The single-user license for five video repairs is listed at €29, while the single-user license for unlimited video repairs is listed at €99. Both licenses are bound to the installation computer. A demo version is available, but repaired output is restricted to half the size of full-mode output. The paid plans therefore fit different repair volumes, though the installation binding matters if the software needs to move between computers. The purchase page also states that refunds are not available.
The repair toolkit goes beyond container-level recovery. Video Repair Tool can reconstruct raw video and audio streams without requiring a valid container, and it offers configurable codec, audio detection and frame-order repair options.
