Our verdict on Tuxis Proxmox Hosting
Tuxis Proxmox Hosting provides Proxmox-based infrastructure for users who want a configurable virtual private server, managed Proxmox/Ceph clusters, dedicated Proxmox servers, or private-cloud infrastructure. The VPS offering is aimed at budget-conscious Proxmox users who can manage their own environment and need browser-based console access, scalable CPU cores, memory and SSD storage, private networking, and standard IP connectivity. Services are hosted in the Netherlands, with IPv4 and IPv6 included in the VPS plan.
The VPS plan costs €13 per month and includes a virtual private server, private networks, console access, daily backups, and IPv4 and IPv6. The infrastructure adds snapshots, server-load monitoring, and daily encrypted backups, giving smaller deployments useful operational safeguards without moving to a managed service. Proxmox Backup Server cloud storage and replication are also available, while fully managed Proxmox/Ceph clusters and dedicated Proxmox servers extend the product beyond the entry VPS model.
The main trade-off is control versus administration. The VPS is self-managed, and the entry configuration has a 1 GB RAM limit with two-day backup retention, so it is better suited to smaller workloads than memory-intensive or long-retention environments. Users seeking managed administration can choose Tuxis's managed Proxmox options, but those services require contacting Tuxis. Pick Tuxis for a low-cost Proxmox VPS with console access, private networking, backups, and upgrade paths; choose an alternative if you need more RAM at the entry level, longer backup retention, or a fully managed default experience.
